She claimed she objected to homosexuality because of her "christian faith" and then is proven to have not exactly lived up to the standards of said faith. This is an insult to TRUE Christians who "walk the walk" and who are taught from the beginning that as a Christian you lead by EXAMPLE, NOT words!
Yes, we are all fallible and susceptible to temptation. Nevertheless, I seem to remember a certain gentleman talking about the splinter in your own eye when noticing the splinter in your brother's. Ms. Prejean should have known this.
I may have left the faith several years back, but it still irks me how folks feel free to lambaste others for their sins, without accounting for their own, especially when they are seen as spokesmen for the faith. It irks me even more when otherwise sensible people continue to drink the kool-aid and circle the wagons around somebody who needs, at best, some support and guidance, rather than defense when, it is found that they, like the Emperor, have no clothes.
I have read and enjoyed many of your posts in the past. I think that most of the people taking umbrage with the criticism are upset with the unfairness of the attacks on her rather than defending her actions. Nobody has seen the video. I am not willing to believe what some scummy ex-boyfriend, the lowlifes at TMZ, or the queers at the Miss America pageant say is on the video. I am guessing that it is far less graphic than what many here have claimed.
During the pageant she did not object to queer marriage based upon her “Christian faith”. She said that she was raised to believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman. Typical in 99% of the homes in America. Her Christianity became an issue later in order to attack her. According to those who attack her, if you have committed sins in the past, you are a hypocrite and can never be considered a true Christian. Was not Mary Magdalene a prostitute. Was not St. Matthew a tax collector (much worse in my book)? Was not St. Paul a murderer?
The Bible verse is Matthew 7:5 “Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.” It fits perfectly with this situation. She may have made mistakes, but look at yourself and your own errors in judgment. Words that many on this thread should think about.
Clemenza I don’t think nude pics for yer boyfriend is equivocal to homosexual marriage.
The notion that Christians must be pure to have an opinion on homo marriage makes it impossible for Christians to do so by default.
I oppose homo marriage because I am a traditionalist of western culture...Christianity is only a part of that.
And I think anal sex between men and fisting and so forth are perversions...and hardly rise to marriage vows.
I have taken sexy pics of many women I have known who have granted me such favor, I don’t think that precludes me from criticizing faggotry...or any other social matter.
