Carrie Prejean has canceled public appearances designed to promote her new book after two major developments in the conservative starlet’s public image.
First, it was reported that a controversial video tape of Prejean had surfaced during settlement negotiations with her former Miss America pageant bosses. Prejean was 17 when she made the tape, which she said was meant for her boyfriend’s eyes only.
TMZ, the media outlet that had obtained the tape, said they did not publish it on their website because it was “so racy.” Because of it, they claimed, Prejean received nothing from her back-and-forth lawsuits with Miss America and was riddled with paying her own lawyers’ bills.
More recently, Prejean threatened to walk off the set of Larry King’s nightly news show when King asked her repeated questions about her confidential settlement with Miss America Pageant officials, and then patched in a call to her from a listener. Prejean called the questioning “inappropriate,” took her mike off, and after about a minute of on-air silence, King broke for a commercial.
Critics immediately used the developments as reasons why Prejean was unqualified to speak about her opinions on gay marriage.
“Prejean -- Family Doesn't Always Come First,” read a TMZ headline. Since then, Prejean cancelled her keynote speech at the New Jersey Family Policy Council’s Defenders of the Family fundraiser, an appearance at an invitation-only event at the National Republican Club of Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., and numerous other radio segments.

Absolutely. But false arguments and bogus premises are the very life-blood of the left. They'll take what they can get, but it's usually all they've got.
As much as I'd like to give Miss Prejean the benefit of the doubt that would easier if she hadn't the breast implants whilst simultaneously asserting her Christian, traditional values.
Good luck to her but Hannity et al need to cease giving her air time, in my opinion.
It’s hard to ignore the dichotomy between the image of a Christian conservative that Prejean has tried to present and the discovery of multiple tapes of her - according to someone here - masturbating.
Now for those who think these tapes are just fine then I’d have to go to Prejean herself who apparently dropped a lawsuit when she learned they had been discovered.
Too bad she did it - to lose her forum, her image, over something so stupid.
However, why anyone would assume this has anything really to do with whether or not we should have gay marriage - well the left will use it to the max, as they always will, despite it being unrelated. Alinksky’s Rules for thee, not me. Too bad she provided the ammunition.

Why, because women with surgically enhanced breasts can’t be Christian?
What about women that have had nose jobs, face lifts, tummy tucks, varicose vein surgery, etc. etc.? How about women that spend a lot of money on makeup and getting their hair done? Are these women no longer Christian or worthy to speak about traditional values?

They weren't "discovered" - they were exposed after being dug out by political investigators who targeted her, and who may have paid for them. And what are you saying - that no real Christian masturbates? Or that it isn't Christian for her to share that, privately, with her boyfriend? Hey, if you're going to shame her in the name of Christianity, please be explicit so the rest of the Christian world will know how not to plunge themselves into hell.

Well maybe she dropped the lawsuit because - gasp - they were actually, really private tapes, which would have otherwise been presented in court against her, and she wanted to maintain her privacy? That's called... lemme see... blackmail.

She provided nothing and has lived an honorable, Christian life. People like you, with your tongue-clucking and shaming, are the real "ammunition" the Left exults in.

I totally agree that we are not perfect. I certainly am not.
But if the tapes are out there, someone will pay for them and show them. That is just a fact of life.
Her enemies take especial glee over this as they hate her. Hey, if we got that sex tape of John Edwards and Rielle Hunter talking about the Dave Matthews Band, we would be snarking.. ;)

They are trying make us live up to THEIR idea of Christian, as in a form of moral absolutes. That is persecution of which I see happening right here on this very thread by other “Christians.”
There are a lot of things I've done in my life that I am not proud of. I ventured down many spiritual paths before Christ came into my life. I still fall from time to time too. I thank God everyday I have His forgiveness and love.
It is called persecution and the left has figured out how to make US cast the first stone. Christ accepts us in our imperfections, he doesn't persecute us.
I think the Right takes glee when those we do not agree with on the Left do something stupid as well.
