WASHINGTON (CNN) - John McCain's former presidential campaign manager Steve Schmidt is the latest McCain adviser to cry foul over accusations Sarah Palin has penned in her yet to be released memoir "Going Rogue."
Excerpts obtained by The Huffington Post characterize Schmidt in an unfavorable light, particularly in reference to the prank phone call Palin received from someone pretending to be French President Nicolas Sarkozy. "Right away, the phones started ringing," Palin writes. "One of the first calls was Schmidt, and the force of his screaming blew my hair back. 'How can anyone be so stupid?! Why would the president of France call a vice presidential candidate a few days out?!'"
In a telephone conversation with CNN's John King, Schmidt said how he is described and portrayed in the book is "fanciful. [And] total fiction."

Now why would he put Sarah on a diet? Another excerpt I read was that he told her she ate too much protein and he hired a nutritionist to balance out her diet. He wanted her to eat more carbs.

Even McCain admitted that his handlers messed up with Sarah, and replaced them with a second set—who were only marginally better.
She was totally mishandled—which was bad enough for her, but cost McCain the election.

I.E. When the McCain/Palin campaign started falling behind, Schmidt started blaming it all on EVERYTHING ELSE, but himself.
Conservative ought rise up and black list Steve Schmindt, Nicole Wallace, Mark Salter, and John Weaver. If these people run the GOP, then RINO Dede of NY-23 will the preferred candidates.
Steve Schmidt is an a-hole and if I recall correctly, it was a McCain staffer who was the moron put that hoax Sarkozy call through to Sarah.
That guy should have been fired on the spot for not realizing that it was not actually Sarkozy on the phone.
