This is easy to understand.

McCain and staff wanted Palin to “shake things up.” It gave them press and more importantly, contributions, from people like us. The great unwashed of the republican party.

But no more than that. She was supposed to shut up and be a “trophy” VP candidate and no more. Except someone forgot to tell Sarah.

She approached this like a real job; a real task to accomplish. So she jumps in with both feet, with her “minders” expected to allow her to only dip in her big toe. All while swooning over how honored she was to be on Senator McCain’s ticket. LOL

And the McCain/Romneybots got scared. They didn’t expect what they got. Hence, the moves to stomp down on her and keep her in her “place” lest she got some big-headed ideas.

You go girl!

And when I get time, I’m going to research how many “roots” Mr. Romney has with the investment banks on Wall Street. So we can know who his cronies are. heh

(hit my Send button too soon)

The other thing is, it’s imperative that everyone understands how MASSIVE McCain’s ego is. While he appreciated the fringe benefits of Palin, don’t for a moment think it didn’t piss him off royally...the attention Palin got.

He was drawing 300 people per appearance, when he appeared alone. With Palin, they were 3,000 - 30,000.

The reason he can’t criticize her outwardly is that every poll from the election proves he would have lost in a landslide without Sarah.

When I first started using internet in 1996, I used AP for my news. I checked it several times per day. I switched to Drudge several years ago (long before the Presidential election of 08) and read it several times per day. I don’t watch TV news any longer. I can’t stand the commentary. The attitudes are obvious and sometimes sickening. Cable news (all of them) drive me nuts. I can’t stand to listen to several people talking at once and each trying to be louder than the other. Talk shows and so-called reality shows are next to nothing. I only watch science and history now. I use the web for everything else.

Uh, 707*5=3536. So, the bill, "including airfare" to Alaska was less than the room alone.

Read again. First of all, you misquoted the AP and Powerline. She filed five days and four nights of expenses.

The point is, the room alone, for a five-hour conference, was nearly $3,000...and when you include air-fare, was well over $3,000.

I can't imagine any of my clients liking it if I billed them a 5-day/4-night stay for a 5-hour meeting.

Be honest...if this were a Dem, FReepers woud criticize it, even if it's a long way from Alaska. Why hold our own to lesser standards?

Really a sad commentary on the state of Journalism in the USA when you have to fact check the fact checkers.

Doing a quick search, round trip tickets for two start at about $1500. If they spent five days in NYC and only cost Alaska $3000, a ton of money came out of Palin's pocket.

Queen Nancy spends way, WAY more than that on one carbon-burning flight back to her district. Every week.

Be honest, if you were not desperate to find something to bitch at Palin about, you would not of even noticed the amount spent.

Just be honest for once. You were just looking for something to bitch about Palin over and this served your need. If it had not been this idiocy, you would of found something else to bitch about

If it were a Dem, most Freepers would not even of noticed because we have serious substantive policy issues to be upset with them over.

We do not waste our time on utterly silly crap like how much they spent at a conference.

Gondring (Paul Revere would have been flamed as a naysayer troll and told to go back to Boston.)

Paul Revere carried a substantive message, he did not wander around aimlessly while whining and bitching about every possible things in the mistaken notion that knee jerk ignorant bitching was "doing something" about the crises his society faced.

The original AP article is here:

Read it and ask yourselves if it’s a hit piece or not. I think the answer is obvious.

Please direct your comments to Gov. Palin. I am not the one who brought up hotel costs.

Thanks.

The Associated Press got an advance copy of Sarah Palin's book, Going Rogue, and assigned eleven reporters, apparently, to try to find errors in it. The eleven collaborated on an article titled "FACT CHECK: Palin's book goes rogue on some facts."

These morons and dregs could better spend their time fact checking our President, or, better still, getting access to the fundamental information.

The real story is the unprecedented lack of openness by our President in connection with his kindergarten records, Punahou school records, Occidental College records, Columbia University records, Columbia thesis, Harvard Law School records, Harvard Law Review articles, scholarly articles from the University of Chicago, passport, medical records, files from his years as an Illinois state senator, his Illinois State Bar Association records, any baptism records and adoption records, not to mention his sources of funding.

We know how much Sarah paid for a dress, but nothing, nothing about our sitting president. Fools, all!

Spare us the bluster.

If it had not been this silly crap you would of found something else to whine at Palin about. It is your trip. You wander around here bitching about everything while standing for nothing.

Really odd thing about your posts. You never seem capable of ever finding anything to shoot at the Left about. No, you spend all your time racing from thread to thread finding reasons to whine about our political allies not being dogmatically pure to suit your emotional whimsy.

Why is that?

Nothing new here. I bet there squads of lib reporters who just can’t wait to ask Palin, like they did Dubya, who the hall monitor in the palace of the high mucky muck of Absurdistan is. Then if she doesn’t know, they’ll gleefully print the news about how ignorant she is. But they’ll never ask lib candidates the same questions.

"The same fact checker shredded Barack Obama."

What the hell does that have to do with what I wrote and why should I care? Why would you bother to toss such an insipid non sequitur on the table and address it to me?

I’m sorry that the connection between Barack Obama and Joe Biden is over your head. Next time I’ll address my comment to someone more up on national affairs.
