MANILA, Philippines — U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton drew loud applause at a town hall meeting with students Friday in the Philippines by giving the right answer to the most pressing question: Is Manny Pacquiao going to win this weekend?

The most popular Filipino will be back in the boxing ring in Las Vegas on Saturday to take on Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico in a 145-pound (66-kilogram) fight that will be closely watched back home.

"Of course the Pacman's going to win. I mean, is there any doubt?" Clinton said at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, where she entertained questions during the nationally televised forum with hundreds of students.

Obama thought it was stupid for the boxers to settle their dispute in this fashion so he suggested they come to the White House and have a beer.

As an official representative of America, shouldn’t she at minimum be rooting for the American?

LOL! The most despicable woman in American history (don’t fret Nancy, your a close 2nd)...could probably bite off Mike Tyson’s ear. My good friend Johnny (yeah he’s Puerto Rican), likes Cotto. It should be a good fight. (I know very little about either, but Johnny really likes boxing.)

Spoken by that great lifelong Yankees fan, Hillarity.

Having said that, I’m pulling for the Pacman. Great story.
Fighting and winning in a long list of weight classes, and making the oddsmakers look foolish.

Cotto is Puerto Rican. I’m a fan of Pacquiao, not bec. he’s not from here but he really is a good guy and an excellent boxer

. Not even once has he called out any boxer to fight him and just defers to his promoters to do the “dirty talking” for him. The only thing he said that was ‘controversial” was that he said it’s the duty of boxers to “entertain people” because they paid so much money to see them fight. Obviously he was referring to Mayweather who’s scared to face him and tarnish his perfect record.

Well to be honest, I’m invited to watch the PPV at another dude’s house (free beer!)

I was there in Vegas when he beat De La Hoya senseless. Just missed the last Mayweather fight bec the only seating options left were not worth paying for.

To be fair, Clinton’s entire trip would have been destroyed if she dare say that saint Pacman would lose. It would be the only headline 99% of the people of the Phillipines would have heard from the mass media about her trip.

Pacquiao wins by TKO. This guy is fighting for the history books now. Unbelievable that his first of seven titles was at 112lbs.

Yup, Manny Pacquiao’s speed and power were way too much for Miguel Cotto’s heart. Cotto’s wife and children left the fight during the ninth round.

Pacquiao booked a concert with friends and family before the fight began. He sang 8 songs (even though he’s out of tune.) He was that confident he will win the fight against Cotto.
