According to news accounts, of which there have been many, U.S. Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan is to be tried by general court martial on charges that he committed thirteen premeditated murders during his November 5 rampage at Fort Hood. The legal details are seeping out, slowly and sometimes erroneously. The case, as would be expected, has been widely covered by the media, and President Barack Obama has ordered a review of how U.S. intelligence agencies handled information they may have gathered about Hasan following questions about whether authorities may have missed warning signs about him.
With all due respect, this is not what President Obama should have said during his Fort Hood memorial charade, regardless of how much I agree with it:.....

What to expect ? Tall horse , long rope and a switch
What to expect: a soapbox for a jihadi hero to blame America for his actions.
Agreed,, along with the show trial for the gitmo detainees thats going to happen in NYC.
An important distinction between the members of a Court Martial who serve as the jury and a civilian jury is that the verdict in a Court Martial need not be unanimous, simple majority suffices for most offenses, although a higher standard may hold for a capital case, I don’t know about that.
What to expect by the prosecution of this clown? H*ll that is easy; he will be acquited by reason of insanity. He will be hospitalized at taxpayer expense for about one year. He will then be released under supervision for about one year. “The Divine One” will then, it a fit of compassion, pardon him. He will then write a book, hit the talk show circuit at $250,000 a “pop.” A movie will be made of his life and suffering. He will then be elected to congress where he will work day and night to have America surrender to Syria. He will retire on a taxpayer funded pension, then work as a lobbyist for a foreign and hostile government at a salary of $25,000,000/year. He will die filled with years and deeply respected by the American media. Just before he dies he will repent, in public. According to some, thus forgiven, he will ascend into heaven and sit on the right hand of the Good Lord. For those who died at his hand their inability to repent before they died places the final status of their souls in doubt. Never ever overlook the universal psychopathology that exists in the US today.
I'm sure there's been a movie plot about something like this, Body Heat maybe. Frankly about all I remember about Body Heat at this point is the steamy stuff.
Yep. Definitely court martial him before hanging him. If for nothing else than to get the paperwork straight.

I doubt any military judge, is going to put up with that. He'll order the defendent gagged or that he watch the proceeding via closed circuit TV.
“What to expect?”
Nothing if zero has anything to say about it. I’m sure the Commander in chief will offer a pardon if this pos is convicted.
Another unasked question: All the conservative pundits are predicting, I suspect correctly, that a KSM trial in NY would become a far left liberal circus and damage the nation. But what would be the local effect? If the trial were in SF I'd say end the story there. But this circus would be on display to a local liberal audience that can still see Ground Zero, that includes thousands who escaped the Twin Towers and many thousands who knew those who didn't escape. Would the average New Yorker's liberalism be strong enough to survive the contrast between what they remember and feel about 911 and what might happen in the circus? Lynch mobs have occurred on weaker grounds and here the NYPD and NYFD would be more tempted than most. This could get out of control.
