****Thing is, all of those folks have worked hard at getting themselves heard.****

I wish some typists here on FR would consider your perspective when bashing Michael Steele for his candor in describing PC discomfort between Americans of different ancestry.

Michael Steele has shown courage for putting himself in the political arena as a Republican and audacity for telling the truth. A rare combination.

Thanks for your contribution - and keep it up!!!!

Yes, Michael had to have extreme courage at some point in his life to move to the Republican side, and then to publicly work his way up the ladder in the political arena. I can respect him for that.

But (you knew it was coming) he has demonstrated that he doesn't have solid conservative core values, and seems to have little understanding of them. If he did, he'd have never made some of the more asinine statements he has since becoming head of the RNC.

Any person who is grounded in traditional, originalist American thinking can be counted on to always give the right answer to any question, and correctly handle any challenge to their positions. It's actually quite simple to do when one fully grasps the simple concepts of conservatism.

But, when a person waffles from one stance to another, or vacillates between extremes on a given issue, they've demonstrated that they don't have a clear moral center. That person is lost among the "nuances" of arguments and policy. They don't see the forest for the trees.

Such a person won't come straight out and condemn the contra-survival actions of a President who elects to try a terrorist mastermind in a civilian court, and with the full protection of American law.

I'm not suggesting that Michael Steele hasn't condemned Obama and Holder for doing this, but this is an example of the kind of muddled thinking that goes on in the RINO mind.

Michael Steele needs to quickly get a grip on conservative principles and make them his own, or he'll soon be a footnote in Republican party history.
