Grieving soldiers and families at Fort Hood, Texas, will get a visit from Sarah Palin next month as part of her national book tour, her publisher told Washington Wire.
The former vice presidential candidate, whose book “Going Rogue,” will be released on Tuesday, had already agreed to visit the Army base, according to her publicist. She said that after last week’s shooting that left 13 people dead and 30 wounded, an official on the base contacted HarperCollins to say that Palin should stick with the planned appearance.
The Dec. 4 event had not been announced publicly or included in a preliminary list of tour stops published on Palin’s Facebook page.
The Fort Hood stop will coincide with a visit to Dallas as part of a tour designed to take Palin to parts of the country where she is most popular. There are no scheduled stops in New York City or Los Angeles, for example, but she will sign books in places like Noblesville, Ind., and Roanoke, Va.

A week ago in Milwaukee when Sarah was here speaking at a Wisconisn Right to Life fundraiser, she started her segment by asking everyone who had been in the miltary, or was currently serving, to stand for applause and then she asked us for a prayer and a moment of silence for the victimes of Ft. Hood — something that Obama couldn’t bring himself to do at his press conference 24 hours earlier.
Sarah Palin will be received warmly by the Troops at Ft. Hood.
They know she has always supported them.
