Marcotte's project would legally ban divorce.

Probably the only for him to keep his wife.

Good idea.

To really liven up the party, we can make it retroactive.

So anyone trying to leave an abusive spouse or a cheater will be SOL?

I think this is taking the marriage debate a little far.

Why is divorce so expensive?

Because it's worth it.

Tilting at windmills, I think, but it would be a good thing to do away with the whole “no-fault” divorce idea.

Marriage should not be a life sentence.

Whether this dude is a homosexual or not, he is deliberately serving the homosexual agenda:

“People who supported Prop 8 weren’t trying to take rights away from gays, they just wanted to protect traditional marriage. That’s why I’m confident that they will support this initiative, even though this time it will be their rights that are diminished.”

Then only outlaws will get divorced.

(but will Kennedys still get annulments?)

I’d support such a law. And I bet a lot fewer people would get married. We would come face to face with the full impact of the word “committment”.

If divorce is outlawed, I predict the murder rate will go up.

He isn’t advocating this because he thinks divorce hurts families or the institution of marriage. He is trying to point out the “hypocrisy” of those who stand opposed to same sex marriage.

As would the suicide rate. I know I'd rather be dead than still married to my X.

I am 100 percent for this law!!!!! I pray that it passes. Unfortunately Americans are so immoral that divorce has become a way of life. VERY SAD!!!!

There are enough Hollywood bastards running around that couples there don’t NEED to get “married”.
