Former President George W. Bush, outlining plans for a new public policy institute, on Thursday said America must fight the temptation to allow the federal government to take control of the private sector, declaring that too much government intervention will squelch economic recovery and expansion.
(snip)
In his speech, which set out his goals for a new policy institute focused on economic growth, education, human freedom and global health, Mr. Bush said he entered politics because "because I saw society drifting away from the values at the heart of the American Dream."

Thank you for outing yourself. This sounds just like the nut jobs at DK, DU and MO.
Please list for me on what basis we could have attacked Iran. Seriously, what could we have said to justify such an attack?
Had they thumbed their nose at 17 UN resolutions for 12 years?
Had they been firing at our military patrolling the no-fly zone for 12 years, breaking the agreement to end the Gulf War?
Were they paying the so-called pali suicide bomber's families $25K each?
Did they have terrorist training camps on their soil?
Had they used WMD on their own people?
Did we have satellite photos of them hauling "something" out of their country to their allies next door?
Were known al-Queda operatives given santuary in Iran?
On what charges could we have justified attacking Iran instead of Iraq???
The Iraqis despise Americans.
Really? Do you have any names to back up that statement? On what do you base that statement?
Have you ever spoken with a real Iraqi?
Do you know any Iraqis?
Have you been to Iraq?
Have you spoken to soldiers who have been to Iraq?
Still looking for a George W. Bush statue in Baghdad.
You never know ... it may appear yet.
IIRC, it has been proposed.
Biggest indicator to me of a live world commie movement was when the world workers party tried to inflame the Iraq war by purposely stirring up unrest in Northern Iraq. W put a stop to it. He put out more socialist world fires in his eight years than you could ever imagine. These people are huge instigators on the world stage. Should we just ignore them...let their movement just go unabated?
How about the Islamic world movement...are we to just go sit in a cave and wait for it to happen? I'd love to...but it is not practical.
That said, their are greedy global corporations that just want to expand and they have left the US behind. They are not for freedom...as you say, but W most definitely is. That's why the socialist owned media hated him and why people are ignorant about what happens.
“You posted the Bush thread, slick. You defend him.”
Posting a thread is somehow a subject for criticism also?
“slick” -— ???
“You defend him.”
If you read my posts on this thread, you will notice that I am glad that he is speaking up on our nosedive into a socialist totalitarian state, and that I hope this is the being of his attack on the plans BHO has for America.
As for my other comments on Bush:
1) To the comment, “W did his part for the economy by retiring. Too bad he was replaced by someone just as bad.”
I said: replaced by someone just as bad.
just as bad??? Thats what BHO and the Dems hope you think...
politics as usual... its just our turn.
No, what is happening is an altogether different ideology on an altogether different scale never seen before in America.
It is the purposeful destruction of America and its Constitution.
2) To the ‘let’s bash Bush’ posters, I said:
How long are they [you] going to keep fighting the last war? We need all the reinforcements we can muster for THIS present war.
I will just repeat on the difference between Bush & BHO-between the Bush adm and the BHO adm:
What is happening [now] is an altogether different ideology on an altogether different scale never seen before in America.
It is the purposeful destruction of America and its Constitution.
3) To the ‘Bush made mistakes;’ Bush is responsible for where this nation is right now.’ I said:
Bush isnt planning on running for president again. Youre fighting the last war. Why?
Nothing pleases BHO more than to see you expend your energies and verbal powers of reasoning on bashing Bush for the state of the union.
Come out of the cave; a lot has happened in the last 10 months.
4) Motives are critical:
As opposed to BHO, a socialist totalitarian state was never Bushs goal. Id rather see him speak up late, than not at all. At this point, silence is complicity. (post 12)
Wow someone put up a photo of George W. Bush on a wall somewhere.
Hmmmmm, paid bHo operatives???
the rest are just bystanders with just enough info to be a little annoying.
A LITTLE ANNOYING?!?! LOL! I need to go work off some of this annoyance. ;*)
Did you see the thread I linked in post #33? Wowser!
If you think this thread is bad, check out the thread I linked in post #33. It is from last night.
They will get over themselves one day. Maybe one of their grandchildren will read it to them in a history book...after we get the freedom back to have real history books.
As time goes by- Bush is going to look mighty good as Obama push his socialist agenda threw the country.
Wake up - Bush did love his country & the troops- more then what can be said for dumBO.

THAT is all you have to say to the post I made to you???
BTW, that "wall" is in IRAQ!
You really are a plant...no doubt about it.
Hope bHo at least pays you minimum wage.
Many times I have posted hard sourced information, but you are right...they don't care. Much easier to keep the BDS flames a burning.
My best guess is that that photo was taken not in Baghdad but instead in the Kurdish section of Iraq. The Kurds are indeed appreciative and Pro-American.
I apologize for hurting your sensibilities about GWB. I voted for him twice, to be honest.
I am convinced that his poor performance as President has given us the “gift” of Obama. Hopefully we will survive the next three years, and we can elect a principled Conservative, not a “compassionate” Conservative.
There was no mention of Baghdad, only Iraq and Iraqis as a whole. Don't move the goal posts mid-game.
You did not say the residents of Baghdad despise America, you said; The Iraqis despise Americans.
The Kurds ARE Iraqis.
So, how many Iraqis do you know...or Iraqi Kurds?
President Bush did not "give us the gift of Obama" -- that credit should be given to the BDSers and the demonRATS along with their propaganda arm, the Enemedia. Might as well throw in the world-wide communist cabal in the mix.
Get back to me with a picture of a statue of George W. Bush in Baghdad and I will apologize to you.
Still waiting . . .
People seem willing to fall in behind the idea of Socialism for several reasons. The poor demand more free stuff. Food, health, education, homes, etc..the adminstration and all the attendant offices, and government workers because they get more of the benefits, especially power and money.
Many compassionate people truly desiring to help the poor and needy. It sounds reasonable and charitable to the majority of non critically thinking people.
I disagree with the concept of Socialism completely. America has been as giving and charitable a nation as any that has ever existed.
Our system has been the best, the most prosperous, having the most freedom and liberty for its people (private property rights), of any nation that ever was.
Capitalism works great, some have taken advantage of it by laws created bit by bit that have corrupted many of its/our principles..
Political correctness as a main stay of the change that has nearly destroyed us; and will if we continue to fail to name a terrorist a terroris, and treat them/him as such. etc, etc. etc. ISLAM is the enemy of America. and others.
Just read about any of the Islamic nations and what they say freely. Here they are undercover. Many may be essentially secular as are many Christians. Still when push comes to shove, thyt will prove to be Islamic. MO
Pray for God to bless America, in Jesus name, amen.
“Hopefully we will survive the next three years, and we can elect a principled Conservative, not a compassionate Conservative.”
That’s the critical point. The time to debate the Bush presidency is AFTER we get our freedom back.
We are witnessing the first American president to ever hate and purposely subvert the America our Founding Fathers established. In comparison to Obama, history will portray Bush as a patriotic saint -— flaws, mistakes, blunders, should ‘hvs, could ‘hvs and all.
“I am convinced that his poor performance as President has given us the gift of Obama.”
Whether or not history will decide that Bush’s performance gave us BHO will be a byline compared to the endless volumes that will recount the planned destruction that the BHO adm purposefully wrought on America...that is, assuming... “we get the freedom back to have real history books.”
~~~~~~~~~
And to the BUSH BASHERS: You’re bashing a man who cannot defend himself to you right now. To do so would put the U.S. in even greater danger than it already is...and he loves this country too much to do so. The only thing you’re doing is playing into the hand of Obama and causing conservatives to look backward...a divisive, wasteful, and destructive use of your presently free speech.
Why do you say that GWB can’t defend himself? It’s not like he is deceased. I am sure he will be writing a pricey book sooner or later.
Doesn’t matter, the damage has been done.
G.W.Bush is right,the only problem is the enemies of the United States are the government in charge with resident Obama in charge.
Nothing can done until he’s thrown out of office.
