Former President George W. Bush, outlining plans for a new public policy institute, on Thursday said America must fight the temptation to allow the federal government to take control of the private sector, declaring that too much government intervention will squelch economic recovery and expansion.

(snip)

In his speech, which set out his goals for a new policy institute focused on economic growth, education, human freedom and global health, Mr. Bush said he entered politics because "because I saw society drifting away from the values at the heart of the American Dream."

But the cause of all of the economic mess stands firmly upon the shoulders of the Democratically controlled congress, who, by the way is responsible for the economic decline in the first place (no one has mentioned that it was the last two years of Bush’s presidency when the economy went into a free-fall - and, what happened during those last two years?)

And what did GWB ever veto coming out of the Dem-controlled Congress during his last two years?

He shares the blame.

Not to mention mishandling the mid-term elections as the titular head of the party that placed the democrats in control to begin with.

Hmmmmm let's just meander down a few memory lane recollections just for kicks, you dumb pandering capitulating socialist-lite doofus GW Bush!!!

-- No Child Left Behind...written by your close friend, fatso demoRAT socialist Ted Kennedy

-- Trillion dollar prescription drug plan "reform"

-- Sept 2008 $285 billion bailout of AIG / Fannie Mae / Freddie Mac, thereby letting Bwraney Fwrank & Christopher Dodd & the soundrel demoRAT pigs like Franklin Raines at Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac off the hook and free from any investigations into their corrupt shady business practices

-- Oct 2008 massive $840 billion TARP bailout & boondoggle, thereby sealing the election for the commie pig 0bozo and ensuring that 0bozo would go into his reign of terror with most of that TARP money intact for his own partisan selective use of it.

-- Plus setting the stage for 0bozo's omnibus spending bill of $410 billion, the Crysler & GM takeover & bailouts, the Porkulus anti-economic recovery bill of $787 billion, the Crap & Tax bill of $900 billion and the health care debacle bill of $1.2 Trillion

.
. Yah, great resume there GW Bush!!! After setting the stage for the destruction & gutting of our country that was largely done under YOUR 8 years of socialist welfare nanny state spending & policies and ensuring that 0bozo would be elected to finish the Zimbabwe destruction of our country, NOW you speak up over too much government intervention.

Too little & too late, you dumb doofus GW Bush
.

Bush isn’t planning on running for president again. You’re fighting the last war. Why?

Nothing pleases BHO more than to see you expend your energies and verbal powers of reasoning on bashing Bush for the state of the union.

Come out of the cave; a lot has happened in the last 10 months.

We need all the reinforcements we can muster for THIS present war.

You are right...but the hatred for GWB takes precedence.

It is the purposeful destruction of America and its Constitution.

Yes it is, and that point needs to be made often, but it is far more important to bash Bush!

Bush’s two big domestic “initiatives”

No Child Left Behind (betrayed school choice and sold out to the Public School Teachers Unions)

Free Pharmaceuticals for Seniors (unpaid for, just put it on the federal tab)

McCain-Feingold Campaign “reform”

Attacking Iraq instead of Iran. How did the Weapons of Mass Destruction work out? Iran was the major beneficiary of a thankless war in Iraq. The Iraqis despise Americans. Still looking for a George W. Bush statue in Baghdad.

George Bush mountain bikes while Wall Street burns.

You posted the Bush thread, slick. You defend him. Obama is worse, but Obama wasn't occupying the White House on Oct 3, 2008. Bush doesn't get an automatic pass from me just because he has an "R" behind his name.

Thanks Justa. Those of us who followed W daily know that he fought the commies, here at home and globally, day in and day out. We know better, the rest are just bystanders with just enough info to be a little annoying.

I cannot even conceive of the ugliness of this thread. I would never have clicked on it. Most of the people seem to be 2008’ers or 2009’ers.

It’s incomprehensible to be that people would attack a good man like Bush because of 3 or 4 decisions they didn’t agree with when we have someone like Obama in office.

Attitudes like I see here are one reason democrats prevail. They defend their people against all odds.

You all should be ashamed of yourselves, putting your cheap grievances on a thread like this. You should be supporting the great remarks President Bush made.

Right you are! Mr. Bush wasn’t afraid to make a decision that would protect the American people.

Mr. Obama, however, wants everyone to like him. Ugh.

Corporations got too powerful and knew no top ... always higher, always more.

Capitalism works ... whatever it is called ... when corporations essentially have too much power in the US government; and especially when the trade laws changed, so that they could and did move most all of their business to China, India, etc., for the cheap labor market. One of the Results being America is making few products; and the high loss of good jobs.

Apparently both Bush Presidents are one world government people.

To me it is mind blowing, how anyone can expect such a philosophy to do anything that does not result in the ending of our high quality of life and freedoms.

We are soon to be lost ...

Can it be stopped? Not likely. It is in fact speeding up to fast acceleration, as we have seen in these last months of Obama.

We forget Satan is the prince of this world. His plan is proceeding as desired. Much tribulation must come first.

God help us, God bless America, in Jesus name, amen.

People remember the way they WANT to remember ... which often is entirely prejudiced and slanted.

Bush made mistakes. He actually believed when he went to Washington that he could get along with the Democrats. He was WRONG. A huge mistake. He did keep trying for too long. Like all of us he made mistakes. First in thinking he knew how to be President. The forces pushing on the President are POWERFUL and determined. No doubt he learned the hard way.

We should pray for America and ask God for forgiveness of Abortion, homosexual acceptance and approval, for taking God out of our society as mach as possible.

The separation of God and STATE is not in the Constitution.

We the people have been content and lazy ... much to our own loss.

“HE WHO IS WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE.” It is me and you and all the others that are responsible too.

May God forgive us our complacency and corruption of the world ... in Jesus name, amen.
