Things are very, very bonkers right now. You are correct that a little bit of civility between comrades would be good and a little bit of understanding too.
Our country is in deadly trouble and we're several generations behind in catching up with it. They've legislated themselves into a cacoon...and the metamorphosis is nearly complete that is why so much seems like it is coming at us nonstop.
What we cannot let America slip from us, as the song says:

Agreed on everything. Glad we’re good now. I don’t ever set out to make trouble with people here. It’s a waste. But occassionally we all slip up. Again, i’m really sorry.
