Heavy snows in northern China wreaked havoc for the third day running on Thursday, killing at least eight people, stranding thousands of motorists and disrupting air travel...
At Beijing's Capital Airport, more than 60 flights were cancelled and up to 100 postponed in the early hours of Thursday due to the fresh snow, the airport said.
On Tuesday, more than 200 flights were cancelled or postponed at the airport -- one of the world's busiest -- after snows blanketed the capital.
Snow also fell in the outlying regions of Shanxi and Liaoning provinces on Wednesday and Thursday, leading to highway closures and the stranding of up to 10,000 vehicles and 30,000 people in Shanxi alone

I recall reading that China was seeding clouds to make it snow a couple weeks ago.
Is this a related storm or not (China is a big place).

Let’s see if China buys into the global warming now at the “Hopenhagen” treaty.

In Beijing, snowfall is the heaviest since weather data began in 1955

Funny, in 07’ or 08’, snow storms in China was probably the biggest unreported news story of the year.

Yes, China made the snow.
They did it much less expensively than here in the US primarily due to cheap labor. Wal-Mart rumored to retail the snow at a cost some 33% less than American made snow.

China is paying the price of not cooperating with the global warming scam. Had they moved to stop the warming, there wouldn’t be so much hot air pushing the cold air down.

Officials have said the two storms that hit Beijing were artificially induced, sparking anger among capital-area residents, but the extent of the weather manipulation efforts remained unclear.Rove sold GOP weather controlling secrets to the Chinese????

I was walking through the local Wallies, and saw a bin full of plastic pumpkins left from Halloween. They were marked down to 8 cents each. On the bottom of each was a MADE IN USA sticker...
WalMart is only one of many stores in this country that sell Chinese products. WalMart is also the largest retailer of American-made (and grown) items.

What is weird is that they never say how much snow they are getting, just that it’s heavy.
To: george76
And I bet they send out their military to start shooting at the ice like they did last year.

What is weird is that they never say how much snow they are getting, just that its heavy. There's probably lead in it like other Chinese products.
Every snowflake I've ever seen was very very light.

Where is Al Gore and Obama?Al is likely skiing or spending some of his ill-gotten Global Warming wealth somewhere else. Zero is likely practicing his Nobel acceptance speech in a mirror - though he could simply be admiring his reflection.

Pre-WWII, I believe that Shanxi was an area southwest of Manchukuo with Beijing on its northeastern edge. It is hard to know for sure as it wasn’t as much a country as a warlord’s domain.
