I wouldn't discount her marksmanship entirely. In the stories I read just after the shooting, it was said that he shot her first. I could understand if her return fire didn't hit him. But the fact that she returned fire probably distracted him enough that her partner got off his shots, which DID hit Hasan.
I won't take anything away from EITHER of them; they were both courageous!
