This has led to layoffs of city personnel, proposed rate increases, a fight over Local Option Income Tax, and the possible trimming of city services. Herein lies the bulk of the problem. The city is short of funds and the economic climate is bad. Unemployment is high, the city has lost valuable companies, and home values are dropping because of foreclosures. On top of all of this, the federal government has seen fit to mandate a major infrastructure overhaul of the transfer systems for the sewage system, without aid in the funding. Understandably, the citizens of a community get peeved at property tax increases,.....

But one has to be realistic. There are only two ways for a city to make sure that there is money to allow it to function. Tax revenue and service fees.

Well there is that other option, you know the one where they start cutting costs, or in this case continue. More taxes and service fees are not the answer.

Reduce the number of city-paid sumbitches until ‘outflow’ equals ‘inflow’.....it’s just as simple as that. Let the city sumbitches go ask Zer0 for some unemployment “Obama Money”

Tax productivity and you get less of it;subsidize idleness and you get more of it.

No big deal. People living Portland, Oregon were surprised to learn that homes decreased in value -- BUT assessed values increased an average of $ 3,000. Taxes increased on median range homes an average of $ 250. Oregon is taxing people right out of the area. More and more people are considering a move across the river to Vancouver, Washington.

There is no limit on the self-absorbed stupidity of Blue State Obama fanatics . . . Just wait until next year when houses fall another 15% - 20% in value. Local businesses have been moving to Washington all year. Jobs are vanishing and taxes are going up like crazy. And P-Town has a gay mayor who lied about sex with an underage intern. He is facing a full blown recall election in 2010 which will also cost taxpayers lots of money.

Makes me to Laugh Out Loud !
