Packaging For Pistol Sight Among Items Found In Fort Hood Shooter's Apartment [13 Photos]
Dallas Morning News ^ | 11/12/09 | LEE HANCOCK

In the center of the table was clear-plastic packaging from a Laser Max brand pistol sight. Authorities have said one of the pistols Hasan used in the attack was outfitted with a red-laser sight. The plastic packaging in the apartment bore a $229.99 price tag. That is identical to those on Laser Max pistol sights sold at Guns Galore, a Killeen gun store where authorities say he purchased the weapons used in the attack.

Hanging on a rack in a closet were a tan-colored, knee-length Muslim shirt and pants similar to those that Hasan wore when photographed by security cameras at a convenience store. Clean white underwear and black socks and other clothing were piled in dryer. The only other articles of clothing in the apartment were a blue sweatshirt and Army fatigues piled on a plastic bin near the kitchen.

A Dockers shoebox on top of the dryer was crammed with bottles of vitamins and drugs. Several bottles held prescription antibiotics and cough medications issued to Hasan at Walter Reed in 2005. One bottle, still holding about a dozen pills, had a label stating that the prescription "Combivir" was issued for Hasan in 2001 at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

Combivir was commonly used to treat AIDS at the time. It also has been prescribed for health care workers who may have been exposed to the virus in needle sticks.

That prescription bottle had the word "AZT" handwritten in block letters, a possible reference to another anti-AIDS drug. Behind the box of medicine, there was an empty bag with a Crown Royal liquor logo.

Wondering if the antibiotics were in preparation for an anthrax attack.

This man was in the loop of a terror cell, with plans.

Forgive my ignorance, but shouldn't whomever's running the investigation, and the Dallas News, worry about future claims of jury contamination?

I just don't know what this kind of exposé accomplishes, other than to satisfy morbid curiosity.

That’s interesting.

A HEAVY DUTY paper shredder ... AND the box the shredder came in suggesting he just bought it to shred stuff just before the shooting.

Why isn’t this apartment sealed as part of a crime scene?
This is all evidence of his state of mind and activities. Now none of it can be used because it has been exposed to possible tampering. This oversight was not unententional.

You would think the whole site would be cordoned off (or at the very least being watched by security), wouldn't you?

Hasan appears to have had anti-retroviral medicine (possibly AZT) among his possessions.

Thanks for posting this. Does anyone know if Hasan was in uniform when he committed his terrorist attack? I may have read about it in one of the many articles out there, but for some reason, my brain hasn’t retained that info.

Be sure to take a close look at Hasan’s business card in slide #9.

JihadWatch posted a photo of Hasan’s business card several days ago.

I immediately noticed that I was just recently informed of what the letters “SoA” meant.

There were signs EVERYWHERE about this guy.

It shows that while security and the military may have been unwilling to intervene BEFORE the attacks, by golly they sure are going to be able to make a case confirming it was him after going through his stuff.

As his "diagnosis" by other doctors as to his mental state, so this disclosure of prescriptions he held would ALSO appear to be a violation of his doctor/patient privacy rights.

Yes it seems as if the document dump is geared to corrupt prosecution. Either that or it is just plain dumb.

I was skeptical when I first saw a photo of Hasan’s business card on Jihad Watch on Monday November 9.

Now that the Dallas Morning News has confirmed the authenticity of the business card, I am in awe as to how JihadWatch and Atlas Shrugs got a copy of that business card that the media has yet to mention.

The photographer for the Dallas Morning News must not have gotten the email sent to all mainstream media that they were not to publish any information regarding Hasan’s SoA(SWT) connections.

According to reports of the shooting he didn’t need a sight. The room was so packed he could have closed his eyes and hit just as many people.

I doubt it. I don't think this would go to civil or criminal trial. This would be handled by a military court of officers, probably resulting in a death penalty.

That's just my guess, though.

Interesting that the box for the shredder was still around. That makes me think that he had just bought it. In the same photo as the one showing the shredder box, the door to the room has been taped open with a sign on it that says: “Leave Open.” I wonder if that was because the place smelled funny, or if it was done for some other reason, like by the FBI.
