his protest is over the rights of gays and lesbians, so he doesn’t stand during the pledge of allegiance

NAMBLA would love to “have him” as a member.

Oh, and gays have every right to marry and adopt.

the right to marry, and the right to adopt.

And these 'rights' are mentioned exactly where in the Constitution?

Will Phillips isn't like other boys his age. For one thing, he's smart. Scary smart.

These people are very predictable. Find me an article about a kid who is "scary smart" who isn't being used to promote some stupid perversion. I can promise you that if he was standing up for virtue he wouldn't get the same write-up.

They've been especially dismayed by the effort to take away the rights of homosexuals – the right to marry, and the right to adopt. Given that, Will immediately saw a problem with the pledge of allegiance.

The kid can't be too smart or he'd realize that no one is taking rights away from anyone.

I hate seeing a kid being used the way this one is. He lives in an inverted world in which a kid gets positive reinforcement, he gets to feel very righteous, standing up for perversion.

Not standing for the flag? Wow. Real brave. These days there must be nitwits all over America who won't stand for the flag; I'm surprised there are any schools left where they say the pledge, to tell you the truth. Most places thats a thing of prehistory.

“They [the kids who don't support him] are much more crazy, and out of control and vocal about it than supporters are.”

Those evil right wing conservative kids.

1. He told his teacher to "go jump off a bridge".

2. His mother expects the teacher to apologise to him for asking him to stand during the Pledge.

The article started off quite well, discussing the Pledge, but then...

They've been especially dismayed by the effort to take away the rights of homosexuals –

...fell right off the cliff.

Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

It was always enough to know that I didn’t HAVE to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance to make me want to stand.

So the kid can sit it out. Fine by me.

His idea that anyone is trying to “take away” rights from homosexuals is the result of parental propaganda. If he really is bright, he’s gonna be pissed when he gets old enough to realize he is being used as a tool.

We raised him to be aware of what's right, what's wrong, and what's fair... ‘With all due respect, ma'am, you can go jump off a bridge.' ”

Apparently what they taught the boy about what is right, wrong and fair is filtered through activist glasses.

Anyone who would take a child to a “pride” (haughtiness) parade should be arrested for the sexual abuse of a child.

Homosexual indoctrination of youth at it’s finest (”Get em at 8 and you’re too late”). Damn, sorry Will, at 10 you’re too old for your mom and dad’s “friends”.

A future sodomite who shows disdain for our country. How sweet.
