D.C. area sniper [ John Allen Muhammad ] executed in Virginia today // November 10, 2009‏

RICHMOND, Va. - John Allen Muhammad was executed Tuesday night for the sniper attacks in 2002 that left 10 dead and spread such fear people were afraid to go shopping, cut grass or pump gas.

The three-week killing spree in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C., was carried out with a teenage accomplice who is serving life in prison without parole. Muhammad, 48, died by injection at 9:11 p.m. EST after he exhausted his court appeals and Gov. Tim Kaine denied clemency.

Muhammad's attorneys earlier had asked Kaine to commute his sentence to life in prison because they said he was severely mentally ill.

"I think crimes that are this horrible, you just can't understand them, you can't explain them," said Kaine, a Democrat known for carefully considering death penalty cases. "They completely dwarf your ability to look into the life of a person who would do something like this and understand why."

Muhammad had been sentenced to death for killing Dean Harold Meyers at a gas station in northern Virginia. He and his accomplice, Lee Boyd Malvo, also were suspected of fatal shootings in Alabama, Arizona, Louisiana and Washington state.

May God’s Mercy and Justice Prevail...alas, he was a child of God who did many evil things, and harbored a great deal of hate, but a child of God nonetheless. God will deliver his mercy and justice in his power.

Remember that we are all sinners. We will all be where he is now.

What ever happened to that Moose idiot?

He bought a white van and he's touring the country lecturing on racial profiling.

That was a scary time in 2002 when those shootings occurred.

We paid for his bed, air conditioning, food and incidentals far too long.

His execution should have been been swift, as justice should be swift to display and teach our intolerance toward murder and some other crimes.

Muhammad’s attorneys earlier had asked Kaine to commute his sentence to life in prison because they said he was severely mentally ill.......................... Yeah, buy into that and end up rewarding him for killing a dozen plus innocent people. What would judge Issac Parker have done after the trial? Certainly he wouldn’t have allowed this piece of human garbage become a public expense.

It sure was.

At least the victims’ families know that John Muhammad will never kill another innocent person.

I hope they can all sleep better tonight.

Wait. WAIT!

The bamster just commuted his sentence after a fine evening of hoops and chain-smoking. This is just too close in time to what happened at Ft. Hood and we don’t want the world to think we hate mudslimes...

What! Too late?

Just damn...

should we really have state sanctioned execution? Unless we don’t have the guts to maintain truly life imprisonment.

I will answer that in the spirit in which it was offered. Touchie-feelie has been rampant forever, and you mean well.

But I respectfully disagree.

It doesn't take guts to embrace the copout. It takes consummate arrogance.
The arrogance to ignore that the human ant colony isn't perfect, or never subject to irrational change.

If one "life" prisoner escapes and kills again, it renders your argument moot.

And since it has already occured more than once, the entire argument is forfeit.

We don’t only need to worry about an escape. Look to the number of correctional officers, nurses, doctors, teachers and other prison personnel who have been killed by people sentenced to life in prison.

Once a murderer is in prison for life there is absolutely no incentive to not kill again.

Of course you are right.

Hence the "welded shut iron cage" absurdity.

One other fact, Ted Bundy escaped twice from jail, his second escape allowed him to come to Florida. 11 more women were killed and a 9 year old little girl - he was executed for her murder and never killed anyone again.

Dead at 9:11. Cool. I think it should become standard procedure that all future executions of muslims be carried out at 9:11.

We should not require them to wait until September to “become martyrs”, and could give them their choice of AM or PM, depending on whether they happen to be “morning” or “evening” persons.

Certainly political correctness needs to be taken out back and killed with a dull axe.

With all respect to the Democrat judge who can't understand capital murder cases, I can only add that we simply have no punishment adequate to achieve justice or, so-called "cloture," in these cases.

So we send him to God and allow Him to decide what to do with him. (There are worse fates than death, after all.)

This is not a moment for joy, but relief mixed with sadness, since we have lost yet another man to hell.

We have not lost a man. A sub-human mindless predator was exterminated.

Another sick Islamic psychos flushed down the drain. The cesspool ain’t half filled. The guy who killed two US Army recruiters, if he is still alive, should be next. And the last thing he should see is 72 pictures of Helen Thomas.

that’s your heaven, AHole!

Wow. Only 7 years. Funny how the D.C. crowd that criticizes us Texans for being "too quick with the needle" blow right past our 10+ year average appeal cycle when they are the victims of the crime.
