I think this is new information, but honestly, the sheer volume of missed red flags has led me to lose track. We already knew that the FBI shrugged off Hasans e-mails to jihadbot preacher Aulaqi, but did we know that a Pentagon investigator operating as part of the joint terrorism task force did the same thing?
If we didnt, we do now.
Two officials speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the case on the record said the Washington-based joint terrorism task force overseen by the FBI was notified of communications between Hasan and a radical imam overseas, and the information was turned over to a Defense Criminal Investigative Service employee assigned to the task force.
That worker wrote up an assessment of Hasan after reviewing the Army majors personnel file and the communications. The assessment concluded Hasan did not merit further investigation, in large part because his communications with the imam were centered on a research paper he was writing at the time, and the investigator had concluded Hasan was in fact working on such a paper, the officials said
Within hours after the role of the defense investigator on the task force was disclosed, a senior defense official said based on what we know now, neither the U.S. Army nor any other organization within the Department of Defense knew of Maj. Hasans contacts with any Muslim extremists.
In other words, because the JTTF found nothing of concern, the information about Aulaqi was never shared with the military.

Then HUT YER YAP!!!!
1 word: Fired!
How about that? A blind Pentagon investigator.
Contacts with Al Quaeda and SoA, Soldier of Allah on his business card are nothing amiss?
Amazing—with all the dirt on this terrorist—I could have written a scathing report. Can we get the background of this incompetent Pentagon employee?
I wonder, was the ‘pentagon worker’ a Muslim?
We need to get a timeline put together.
All those calls to 1-800-AL QUEDA?
Who knew?
Gossip stated as fact. You’re right they need to hut their yap!
I just came across the link below. I have not yet researched it, but want to post it for others who might like to research it as well to if we can confirm or deny.

Follow the paper trail to the PC TRASH CAN.
In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific assurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.
IIRC there was a thread right here on FR over the weekend about that.
And someone was claiming to have been his Texas CCW class instructor.
