Have you wished any Vet a Happy Veterans Day? I did! Do it, any vet or active service person you meet, thank them! My daughter (Iraqi vet) said Applebee’s in Clarksville, TN (Ft. Campbell, KY) is giving free dinners if you show your active military ID. She wondered, what about vets? I suppose if you bring in your discharge papers it would work. Anyway, Applebee’s is doing something there. I don’t know if it’s their policy nationwide, but at least near their base, they’re doing it.
The VA gets the day off. Or, I should say, takes the day off. Kind of weird... if they don’t take it off it’s a bit insensitive, but if they do well... aren’t they the ones that are supposed to be SERVING veterans?
