BONO MACK LAUNCHES PETITION TO KEEP GITMO DETAINEES OUT OF CALIFORNIA

Palm Springs, CA -- In an effort to keep dangerous terrorists out of California, Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack (CA-45) today launched today an online petition calling on President Obama to keep Guantanamo Bay detainees from being transferred to the State of California.

"We as Californians need to band together to let the Administration and the Majority in Congress know that we do not want these dangerous criminals in our prisons or on our streets," said Bono Mack. "I join with the majority of Americans in being outraged by the Administration's decision to bring deadly terrorists to U.S. soil without a clear plan that would ensure our safety."

"It is clear that the Majority in Washington is willing to score political points at the expense of the safety and security of the American people. By signing this petition, we can take a stand for our community and keep California from being a place to detain some of the most dangerous terrorists in the world."

Bono Mack notes that about 1 in 7 terrorist detainees released from Guantanamo Bay returns to participate in terrorist activities. Calling attention to the severe threat of transferring these terrorists to U.S. soil, Bono Mack co-sponsored the Keep Terrorists Out of America Act (H.R. 2294), which requires the Obama Administration to seek the permission of state governors and legislatures before transferring any terrorists to their respective states. To date, House Democratic leadership has blocked this legislation from coming up for a vote.

The petition to keep GITMO detainees out of California can be found on Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack's website,www.marybonomack.com/contact/petition.

Why worry about it? California can execute them within 24 hours. Other than that, no, don’t let them in.

Send them to Hollywood. Those bleeps love the ‘insurgents’.

Let’s put them in her backyard, the turncoat.

Or does she just need more PR?

Gitmo detainees should be sent only to those states that voted for BO last year.

I think the Gitmo detainees need a country to call their own. Might I suggest a 1 sq. mile area in the Gulf of Mexico, approximately 1,500 ft below sea level.

But I thought California was a sanctuary state, or at least the major cities are sanctuary cities. Seems like a good idea to locate them there, as long as we can guarantee the stay in the sanctuary cities.

You're not suppose to jump to conclusions like this. I'm sure they just want to live the American dream./s

A citizen needs to start a petition drive to WELCOME them to California...Alinsky style, making them live up to their own rules/standards. They need to be right there in San Francisco or Hollywood. Those who object are: haters, bigots, mean-spirited, etc. etc. We know the drum beat by now, lefties. We too can play this game. In fact they should stay with Babs or someone like that who has lots of room and “too much” money. She needs people as I recall.

Deer season opens after Thanksgiving, for us, so Bammy could turn the Gitmofos loose in the wooded hinterlands of Pennsylvania, in the north half of the state, above Interstate 80, hayna?

El problemo solvidad.

If they have to be brought to the US, I suggest Adak, Alaska, if their presence wouldn’t interfere with the Navy’s operations. About the same latitude as Amsterdam.
