General George Casey Jr., the Army chief of staff, said on Sunday that he was concerned that speculation about the religious beliefs of Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, accused of killing 12 fellow soldiers and one civilian and wounding dozens of others in a shooting rampage at Fort Hood, could cause a backlash against some of our Muslim soldiers.
Ive asked our Army leaders to be on the lookout for that, General Casey said in an interview on CNNs State of the Union. It would be a shame as great a tragedy as this was it would be a shame if our diversity became a casualty as well.
General Casey, who was appeared on three Sunday news programs, used almost the same language during an interview on ABCs This Week With George Stephanopoulos, an indication of the Armys effort to ward off bias against the more than 3,000 Muslims in its ranks.
A diverse Army gives us strength, General Casey, who visited Fort Hood Friday, said on This Week.

I have to agree, General. But 3,000 is a fairly manageable number. The best way to protect them would be to ship them all to a safe location, such as North Korea, and leave them there. I hear security in that country is very tight.
I am offended his open statements were about the people we have to worry about, and not for the people who have to do the worrying.

What a politically correct idiot.
Nothing about the military is diverse. It is all about unity and unity of cause. If a army is not in unity it will never win a war...
On one hand, the public is told to wait until we have all the details before rushing to judgement and then on the other hand we have Obama and now this clown rushing to judgement on their own by claiming that Islam is not responsible.
Islam is responsible FRiends. Occam's Razor if you must.
Are their any good muslims in the world or for that matter in the US military, yes of course there are. But you see that is an assertion that concerns the indvidual and not the ideology that they believe in.
There were good people who Nazis during World War 2. That didn't make Nazism right.
The reality we are faced with in the US is that from the CIC on down the United States FEARS offending the religious beliefs of our adversaries - we have failed like many others have in the past to fully recognize that Islam is NOT just a religion - it is a political ideology as well.
If we continue to find ourselves unable to filet the politcial aspects of Islam from the religion then we are doomed. It is political Islam that we are at war with and the sooner we come to that bitter realization the better.
DO NOT believe these idiots who keep saying Islam is not responsible - not a one of them know anything about the religion or the political ideology that encompasses it. Casey sure as hell doesn't and his remarks do more damage than good.
shibumi, theoretically, if islam was typical, what you suggest would be a test of sorts, but you forget taqiyya. If it advances the cause of islam, they will stomp on a koran. They would stomp on their mothers, or their children if asked and consider themselves righteous.
There is no higher calling than a believer deceive the infidel in order to defeat him in the end.
Nothing will work with them. No one will know until it is too late.
Casey and his ilk are idiots at best, traitors to the country and to the men and women they command at worst.
Would You Tolerate Men in Your Command Who Consider This Book "HOLY"?!!! [9.30] And the Jews say: Uzair [Ezra] is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away! [5.51] O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people. |

I mean - really! - how could you look at that thing and take him seriously???
Of course. A member of a radical world-domination group kills innocent Americans and the authorities protect other MEMBERS of the group, not the people that the group has promised to kill.
mass deportations.
You are correct, of course.
But you gotta start somewhere.....
..... then there’s always the “Col Kurtz Solution” .....
“Sorry, had the wrong cover...”
Either will do. Two sides of the same coin. Though people might think these two are incompatable, the truth is they enhance each other. Two humps on the back of the same camel.
Hey General, Americans didn’t shoot Americans. A Muslim did and where were you when this was building up?
There is no start point left here. The start point was 5 thousand years ago when G-d said to kill Amalek off the face of the earth. PC Saul didn’t. Nothing has changed since then.
well, the “diverse army” killed 13 (16?) at Ft Hood, didn’t it General?
The Army Chain of Command failed these families and continues to fail them
AND FAILS ALL OF AMERICA to make pompous stupid groveling ridiculous comments like this that act like non muslims Americans are on the edge of killing muslims in retaliation
WE ARE NOT SERBIA, General Casey
The beauty is you need both - because most politically correct people would think the quotes came from the former and not the latter. This juxtaposition should be posted with the links everywhere.
Why don't we just build a strong army first. If we happen to stumble along a little diversity in the process, great; if we don't...well, at least we've got a strong army.
King Saul was just over 3000 years ago.
5000 BP was before the Flood.
