"Only problem with that is that they (the children) were being shot."

Yes, but the LEO's didn't know the sitrep.

"I have read that the tactics employed at Fort Hood were developed because of Columbine."

Really? What "tactics" were employed? As far as we know now, it was (2) cops who intervened.

SWAT and "tactical" forces got on scene after the fact, which is usually the case. That's why I believe that anyone who wants to carry a weapon should be able to carry a weapon.

Think about this: Every time the Police show up is usually after the crime has been committed. Of course, I support them and they do their clandestine ops, but when a burglary or home invasion or car-jacking or drive by shootings occur, the Police show up to investigate the crime that has already occurred.

Every person in the US should be armed. Think what an impact that would have on the bad guys.

I have a sign outside my home that says, "This Is An Armed House - Invade At Your Risk". Guess what? Two doors down was robbed, recently. What does that tell you?

Think Remington 870 double ought.

It is called “active-response tactics”, the courage and skill of initial responders is the only thing that will quickly minimize the carnage... the officer (Sgt. Munley) possessed both.
