Americans Are Starting to Miss President Bush

Obama 'Cold' and 'Bloodless' The UK Telegraph has a remarkable story from America about a new trend that, so far, seems to be going unreported in the American media. Americans, turned off by President Obama's cold demeanor, are missing George W. Bush.

"In a sign that the Obama honeymoon truly is over, I began to hear this week the first stirrings of a wistfulness about Mr Bush. 'I never thought I'd hear myself say it,' one Democrat told me. 'But Obama makes you feel that at least with Bush you knew where he was on Americans Are Starting to Miss President Bush something.'"

The Telegraph piece cites, among other things, President Obama's relatively cold public reaction to the Fort Hood Massacre in which a Muslim soldier took the lives of at least thirteen of his fellow soldiers and wounded thirty. It is noted that President Bush felt very deeply the deaths of servicemen and women in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Indeed, former President Bush and his wife Laura paid a private visit to Fort Hood to meet with the wounded and the bereaved. President Obama has yet to visit Fort Hood, though he is scheduled to be at a memorial service on Tuesday.

A year since Barack Obama was elected on a wellspring of "hope and change" there seems to have developed a yearning for a President who can feel, who actually has emotions. In a way Americans exchanged a President like Captain Kirk for one like Mr. Spock and do not very much like it.

The nostalgia for President Bush has even manifested itself in a poster and bumper sticker that shows a smiling Bush with the caption, "Miss Me Yet?"

By this rationale, if the next President is for even bigger government, will you miss Obama?

Seems like a convenient system for perpetual movement of the goalposts, IMO.

Except that his mantra is- "The needs of the One outweigh the needs of the many..."

***I say we kidnap President Bush and lock him in the Oval Office.***

LOL! Then we put Laura in Bela Laposi’s office. Sounds good to me.

Dittos. It’s couldn’t be more clear. Soetoro did NOT give the order to kill the Somali pirates. The Seals had to use subterfuge to get away with it. Soetoro has pressured Honduras relentlessly to re-install their law-breaking Communist president. He is skipping the Berlin Wall celebration.

Etc., etc., etc.

His heart IS with Communists, Jihadists, and all enemies of the United States. He HATES the U.S. and the American People.

***Sorry, but he was a Tax-n-Spend democrat, plain and simple.***

Bush cut taxes. He put money back into the hands of its rightful owners, and they bought things with it, just as he (and Reagan) said they would. That put more people to work making things, and THAT brought more money into the US treasury than it was getting before.

I miss President Bush, Laura Bush, Condi Rice. I miss my peace of mind.

I miss my job...of which I had plenty, with him in office.

W selected two pretty good conservative judges to the supreme court. No dem lite would have ever picked. Dem lites don’t pound the taliban and say either you’re with us or against us. A dem lite lite would pander to the politically correct. He’s not perfect but the lame congress and senate is what killed everyone. Throw them out.

Not sure you caught it, but post 19 was so eager to dump on Bush, he mentioned Bush's father(41).

Even noted right wing media member (/dripping sarcasm) Charlie Gibson pointed out to Soetoro during one of the Democrat debates, that when both Democrat AND Republican presidents CUT taxes, revenues to the federal government INcreased...Barry Spocktoro didn't care.

Didn't take long for the trolls to come out on this one...despite disagreements we had with W, to suggest that he is no better than what we have now, or that he was a Tax-and-Spend Democrat? Utter buggering rubbish.

"He’s Tom Marvolo Riddle."

Yah, true. Don't know why that didn't occur to me. That must be why you make the big bucks, huh?

He reminds me of lex Luther not Spock. Spock was a follower of cold logic liberalism is illogical and Obama is simply a con man and a crook. A third world poser a grifter a matchstick man he is far less than any of those that preceeded him even Jimminey Carter.
