ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates — The U.S. Homeland Security secretary says she is working to prevent a possible wave of anti-Muslim sentiment after the shootings at Fort Hood in Texas. Janet Napolitano says her agency is working with groups across the United States to try to deflect any backlash against American Muslims following Thursday's rampage by Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, a Muslim who reportedly expressed growing dismay over the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The shootings left 13 people dead and 29 wounded. Napolitano was in the United Arab Emirates on Sunday for talks with security officials and a meeting with women university students in Abu Dhabi.

Arif Alikhan (muslim) Asst. Secretary of Dept. of Homeland Security for the Office of Policy Development.

Kareem Shora (muslim) Dept. of Homeland Security, Advisory Council. Is also the National Executive Director of the American Arab Anti-discrimination Committee.

Dalia Mogahed (muslim) on the Advisory Council on Faithbased and Neighborhood Partnerships. Is also the Executive Director of the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies. She has said it is her job to convey to Obama (pees be upon him) what it is that muslims want.

Nidal Hasan (muslim) was on the Homeland Security Policy Institute Presidential Transition Task Force.

This does not make my homeland feel more secure. There is more concern about protecting the muslims against Americans than there is about protecting Americans against the muslims. Something is very wrong with that.

These stupid assh*les constantly worry about a 'backlash', but seem to not have a care in the world about radical slammies influential in "higher learning", all branches of the service and deep inside Washington institutions and the government, even including security and the clandestine service.

These people don't have a brain cell working except to worry about a 'backlash'. Vigilantism only surfaced and survived where there was a lack of law enforcement. Don't these people even bother to read history?

Right on Pallis! I’m sick and fricking tired of the rhetoric on the left. In over eight years since 9/11 there has yet to be a backlash against muslims. Yet, who is protecting U.S. service men and women from islamic radicals (and other subversives) who have crept in amongst us?

Those who are supposed to be protecting us are too busy protecting the islamite snakes who slither among us, sinking their fangs into us as it pleases them to do so.

We are governed by fools who are too politically correct to admit who our enemies are or even allow us to vent our natural and normal anger at them.

"Homeland Security" is your job, not being nice to those who would endanger it. Where were you when Hasan was contacting a notorious Al Qaeda recruiter, who is also the former Imam at his "home" Mosque?

Do your job, or resign. In fact, since you clearlly have not done it, nor apparently have a clue about what it is, resign now.

Islam should be treated like the German American Bund was in the 1930’s.

Actually it has been. The difference is that the GAB was quite popular, until 8 December 1941, when Germany declared war on the US. It then became a pariah organization.

Islam, and more specifically groups like CAIR, are treated with official approval, IN THE WAKE of an actual attack on the "Homeland", and several follow up attacks as well.
