McDonnell in 2012 (Vanity)
self

Posted on 11/07/2009 10:05:48 PM PST by indianrightwinger

Why won't we nominate one of the most conservative leaders with proven electability on the GOP ticket in 2012? Sure, it will only be an year and a half in the Governor's chair. But, who cares. Obama was only in the Senate an year and a half before he ran. Bob McDonnell gave Obama (and his puppet) a thumping in a key state. He is a social conservative as well and has shown the road to win key elections.

He could win, but really, haven’t we already heard enough about some old thesis of his?

Easy there, Turbo.

Sarah Palin & Liz Cheney already have things under control for 2012.

But thanks anyway.

No, but a VP-candidate if he’s popular by 2012.

I kind of like what I’ve read of John Hoeven. But I don’t think a lot of people have ever heard of him and he’s governor of a not high-profile state, North Dakota. I’m thinking it’ll be another Romney, Huck battle with Pawlenty and maybe Palin in there too.

I have not studied Pawlenty enough. Any one of the other three will be a disaster. I like Romney as a leader and person. Supported him over McCain as a better hope in the general election. However, I fear inside that he will be Ahnold.

It seems as if his healthcare plan passed in the House tonight. Romney is not the answer. On the economic front (healthcare excluded) I’m sure he’d do a good job ... not with everything else I’m afraid.

Bob McDonald has a full plate of work in front of him with the job that he has spent considerable time and treasure seeking. Why not let him do the job that many of us in Virginia, who have also spent considerable time and treasure to place him in that job, require him to do.

There are already any number of qualified candidates for the job of POTUS, why not leave our new governor alone for now?

Try to remember how effective Sara Palin was as Governor of Alaska. Effective that is before she was dragged onto the national stage and then became useless to the people of her state because of relentless attacks, some involving silly lawsuits, from the left. As governor, she had no recourse, legally, but to defend against these frivolous suits, leaving her personally bankrupt and ineffective as governor.

She was compelled to abandon the job which the people of Alaska hired her to do in order to save her family and her state from further attack by becoming a private citizen again, something she was not able to do as the head of government in Alaska.

Would you condemn McDonald and Virginia to the same fate? He only gets one term, let the man do his job.

I think the incoming governor of Virginia will be a wonderful possibility in ‘16.But, I think after 4 years of Obama they are going to want somebody substantive with a longer resume and that goes for Sarah to. They will not be looking for a pretty face they will be looking for something else.

Oh, I dunno. Do you think maybe we could...

LET THE MAN TAKE OFFICE FIRST?!?!?!?!?!

All this silly speculation could possibly accomplish is to hinder his term as Governor. Let it go.

Agreed. This is silly speculation.

Let him be governor. We’ve had 8 years of MWarner and Governor Gridlock. I’m ready for a real governor for a change.

We, as conservatives, have plenty to do right now to stem the tide of socialism. Let’s focus on today’s battles.
