Gay-Marriage Fight Heads to New Jersey

The battle over gay rights will move to New Jersey and the federal government, advocates said, after Tuesday's narrow rejection of same-sex marriage by Maine voters in a hard-fought contest.

The Democrat-controlled legislature in New Jersey, which currently recognizes same-sex couples in civil unions, is under pressure to pass a bill authorizing gay marriage before Gov. Jon Corzine ends his term in mid-January.

It says a lot that they are taking the bill up right AFTER the election... too scared to face the voters after they attempt it.

Corzine’s parting shot at the voters for voting him out.

Maybe we SHOULD toss people out of office the day after elections are held!

I've said it before on this forum, and I'll say it again: Though I care relatively little about this issue (I'm more concerned with increased taxes, increased "entitlements" spending, and oppressive regulation), I would like to see this question on every ballot, in every state, in every election.

I'd like to see every jurisdiction that prohibits gay "marriage" have legalization on the ballot, and every jurisdiction which permits it have repeal on the ballot. Every election, forever. Whatever it takes to bring out the base.

It would be difficult, because you can’t necessarily make a transition immediate. But what should be done, and should be via passed law, is to render that no legislation can be enacted from the period beginning after election day until the new government/legislature, etc. is sworn in (call it “lame duck legislating”). NJ Democrats did this before when they lost the legislature in a landslide during Gov. Florio’s midterms in 1991. IIRC, drastically cutting taxes in order to stick it to Republicans (who would then be forced to raise them).

With this stupid marxist punk in power the libs are pushing every radical project they ever thought up.
Eventually the right will push back just as hard.
Near time to take up insurrection?

It says a lot for the wiliness of the homo-activists that they've been successful in bending the meaning of commonly used terms to their service, even on supposedly conservative forums. No, you cannot prohibit "gay marriage" if "gay marriage" isn't even possible. This idea that somehow "gay marriage" would just magically exist if not for the "hateful" prohibitions of some of the population plays right into the hands of the radical fringe left - they've crafted this language that many have willingly swallowed.

We need to return to the rational way of thinking we naturally employed before the PC left drummed madness into our collective heads. Don't let anyone get away with spouting contrived terms like "gay marriage", "marriage equality", "homophobe", "equal rights", etc. without returning a strong, reasoned repudiation. This will go a long way toward arresting the slide.

Just be prepared for some diabolical hatred when you do.
