TALLAHASSEE (CBS4) The State of Florida is looking for help finding something you'd think would be hard to lose; approximately 18,000 buildings, owned by the taxpayers of Florida, that state officials can't quite put their fingers on. What's more, state officials say they don't have the people to hunt them down, so they want to use tax money to hire an outside company to find each building Florida has misplaced.
The plan was made public by Linda South, Secretary of the Florida Department of Management Services. Earlier this year, legislators handed her the job of locating surplus state-owned properties and buildings that could be sold, possibly raising a few bucks for Florida's cash-strapped treasury. The mission was simple; finding the state owned properties, not so much..
It seems that nowhere in the state was a single list of all of the properties taxpayers own.

They’re Democrat voters.
Leave them alone! ( sarc)
Government at work!
ACORN liberated every one of 'em and have officially disappeared (no tax paid)
They've become radical safe-houses and ... perhaps ... whore houses with 12 year old Columbian girls.
What? Flor-E-DUH can’t figure out how to use mapquest and then send someone out to that location to check that a state government building is actually there?
They are probably cemetery plots of all the registered ACORN voters who voted for Obama.
And we want them to run our health care?
Must be beyond them to actually go to the ADDRESS! Maybe the buildings moved and gave the totally inept US postal service an address change. That’s one way to get lost in the system....huh?
This people are just the sort of geniuses I want managing my healthcare! /S
Just goes to prove how efficient our bureaucracies really are, but as they are wont to do, hey lets throw more money and hire some others to correct their incompetence.
They will no doubt count (maybe double?) as jobs created by O'Bozzo's porkulus spending as you can bet somewhere in there are our some of our tax dollars.
Lol. My jaw hit the floor when I saw the headline.
....how many patients will they "lose" before anyone notices the problem?
Gee whiz..... why is this so tough?
Maybe they are looking for the Ent wives?
How about a finders fee of 10%?
For the right price, I can deliver that list.
Oh I am so sorry. This is what comes of me putting off cleaning out my closets. I thought it was just some playing blocks left over from when my children were younger but it appears to be the Bureau of the Mandated Regulations Department. Division of Auxillary Redundant Services Annex B Joint Commission Building. I hope they don’t mind some cobwebs and a bit of dog hair on it.
Is that you, Entwhistle?
Yeah! That’s them alright!
You need to call the Florida idiots real quick before they can get away again....................
