The far rights star House member just hit the headlines with a rowdy health-care rally on Capitol Hill. Benjamin Sarlin reports on the Democrats lining up in Minnesota to send Michele Bachmann into early retirement.
Michele Bachmann took her paranoid campaign against the White House to new heights on Thursday, leading a mass protest inside the Capitol itself that led to multiple arrests. Antics like these have made her one of the breakout stars of the Republican Party in the Obama era, drawing praise from Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, and even George Will. But her stunts have also made what is otherwise a relatively safe Republican seat potentially vulnerable to Democratic takeover.
Her bid for reelection to a third term is still a year away. But two credible challengers have already emerged to vie for the Democratic nomination: physician Maureen Reed and State Senator Tarryl Clark. Both are making Bachmann's extremist rhetoric the centerpieces of their campaigns.

I will say, bring it on!
There’s always redistricting looming on the near horizon too.
Aided by the GPS locating of every house coupled with voter registration lists.
Bachmann knows that the left is always trying to go after her. Her efforts have cause her to be on Pelosi and MSNBC’s hit list. No surprise. I also say bring it on.
Funny that you bring up redistricting. The MN legislature is dominated by Dems. Pawlenty is not running for re-election for Governor. He wants the White House in 2012. MN i slong overdue for a Dem Governor. If the Dems have full control of redistricting in 2011, they will redraw Bachmann’s district out of existenance. Under such a scenerio, Bachmann has two options in 2012. Run for Senate against the popular Amy Kulouchar or run for President.
I know that MN is HHH country and redistricting would likely be in the hands of the state ‘rats. Is MN likely to lose one or more seats next go-round?
I left a few choice comments. I seriously doubt they’ll make it past the preemptive moderator, though....
She’s not one to walk away from a fight. We need more like her.
Bring it on biatches! I will ONLY give to Conservative's running for office. The RNC has lost this wallet.
The arrests were of madmen having nothing at all to do with the peaceful rally of Americans against O’s health care.
Unfortunately for the Dems, the GPS coordinates for the actual locations of the ACORN-registered voters are most likely in Chicago, IL.
We should pay any attention to the craptastic DailyBeast, home of the slutty McCain offspring?
I haven’t heard much about the reallocation of each state’s electoral votes. We’ll probably hear more about it next year.
No bias in this reporting!
Don’t worry. Newt will fix this.
ROTFLMAO!
Michele is the best damn representative one could vote for and makes the 6th district a proud district to live in.
Far right....heh!
And the likes of Al Franken are center to right.
maybe in those impounded Acorn computers in Louisiana.
I don’t think Pawlenty will get far as POTUS candidate.
John Batchelor says we are cultists and cranks chanting “kill the bill!kill the bill!.
Read his story on the link. What a pile of puss.
