Regrettably, the Catholic Bishops have not been forceful enough in opposing this bill-the entire bill. Just complaining about the abortion exclusion is not enough. There IS rationing for the elderly. The house bill calls pays for “home” physicians to withhold care by restricting diagnostic procedures and referrals to specialists. The insurance mandate requiring every citizen to purchase heath insurance under penalty of law is an affront to our basic constitutional rights. Dozens of other provisions in the bill punish the individual in unprecedented ways.
Can’t these bishops put down their books on social justice and liberation theology down for a little while and stand up for liberty? Excommunicate Nancy Pelosi and all of her scandalous Catholic accomplices.
There was nothing to oppose until two weeks ago.
