... people were significantly more likely to set their bedtime based on TV schedules rather than sleepiness or a need to get up at a certain hour. "They just wait till the show ends" before going to sleep, researcher Mathias Basner said. Not surprising, once they mention it. It's not that watching TV per-se affects sleep, but that people don't go to bed because they're watching TV.

Exactly. It isn’t that tv is bad, just that people don’t turn the tv off early enough.

What a releif!
I usually am sitting in front of a computer screeen at night. Never a TV!

Seems cats, however, are not similarly affected.

How about listening to Mark Levin? It is a healthy addiction.

My wife and I leave the TV on all night. We will occassionally (a couple of nights a week) wake each other in the middle of the night for sex. Neither of us like relations completely in the dark. Doing this does wonders for restful sleep.

Misleading headline alert...
The article does not say the health problems are caused
from watching tv before going to bed,
but from not getting enough sleep due to staying up late to watch tv.
To: mlizzy
Methinks this little box at my fingertips is far more responsible for poor health then the TV...

The research failed to mention that it’s only when the channel is on MSNBC, CNN, ABC, NCB, and ABC. With Fox on, people actually tend to become healthier.

Why is it when these well-paid “researchers” come up with some nonsense like this the end result is ALWAYS to attempt to take something enjoyable out of our lives (”it’s for your own good!”).
Is the Nanny State going to now demand that all TV cease after 10:30 P.M. (save for a test pattern of Our Dear Leader, of course, and maybe an Obama “quote of the day”) so we can all be assured of a good night’s sleep (so that we can toil more productively for The State the following day)? Yay! What fun!
The additional sleep will also guarantee we down fewer cups of coffee... which (they say) is bad for us, TOO.

How about listening to Mark Levin? Most Friday nights we drive to our favorite pub and listen to Mark on the way. Sometimes we just sit in the parking lot listening to him, causing us to miss part of happy hour!

Nah, that's not it. This post is from a site that's on the side of the patriot. The reason you want more sleep (and not be drowsy) is so you can FIGHT our dear leader and his administration (not to mention big-pharma) soon after rising (and for the rest of the day) ... at least that's my take on it ...
