Disturbing new details surfaced yesterday about the deranged Fort Hood gunman and his methodical mass murder plot, which survivors say began with him screaming "Allahu akbar," before he fired more than 100 rounds at his fellow soldiers.
The mystery of how Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, failed to draw concern from military brass before the attack -- despite trying to leave the Army for months, denouncing the war on terror and saying he was "a Muslim first and an American second" -- deepened as families prepared to bury his 13 victims.
Some of the 23 people still hospitalized -- out of 38 wounded in the rampage -- have extremely serious injuries and may not survive

ACtually heard that announcement yesterday and read it again here on FR - one of the articles this morning....will have to search to find it.
despite trying to leave the Army for months...
Where do they come up with this screed? This guy was an officer. He could resign his commission at any time. He didn't because the Army put him through med school and he would have been on the hook to repay the cost if he didn't serve his obligation. Besides, as a Major he had a decent salary and work schedule. Deployment is a fact of life in the Army - you don't join if you don't want to be deployed. This guy wanted the perks that come with military service and didn't want to pay the price.
Well I am still searching to find where I read that Obozo would be going to Ft. Hood.
But while searching, I learned that President George W Bush and his wife have ALREADY visited the wounded from this attack...
“Most of the shooting survivors remained hospitalized, many in intensive care. Former President George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, visited wounded soldiers Friday night at the post hospital. A Bush spokesman said the couple spoke with family members of the wounded and personally thanked hospital staff members and Fort Hood leaders.”

No photo op, no press, bet most even on FR don’t know - but W was there. Thank you, Mr. President!!! How we miss him.
(Pinging some others who may or may not know that President GW Bush has already visited the wounded from Ft. Hood).
Some heads should roll but won't however, new rules about Muslims and political correctness should be put in place. CAIR is like Jesse Jackson and Rev. Sharpton, they make honest criticism and "equal under the law" personal affronts or racial. To heck with that.....this Muslim is a killer, his personal religion may have driven him but that is not an excuse in a civilized society.
Marshmallow Boy, O'Reilly, who always deftly searches for the safest position to take on every issue, didn't have much to say when the Colonel laid it out like it is. I doubt if the facts really got through BOR's inflated head, anyhow.
By all means, watch the clip linked above. It's a must-see.
Thank God we still have some clear thinkers left in this country who are able to get on TV, thanks to Fox.

“The signs were there - they were not acted upon because of PC.”
Absolutely correct.
It's what I expected from GW.
I don't see how the One, (who lacks the ability to empathize with anyone except minority constituencies) could help, console or inspire anyone with his gaggle of aides, photographers, videographers and obnoxious reporters.
Yes it is what we would expect from W.
No Zero coming would just HURT an already hurting group of soldiers! But I believe he is going there.
He (plus Flotus and Totus) are going to the memorial service on Tuesday, per the London Telegraph.
I'm sure the advance men are measuring the light, the speechwriters are readying the verbal awesomeness, and Flotus is choosing her wardrobe.
While the families of the victims suffer.
Yes indeed. Meanwhile they were so exhausted from the shout out that they are resting up at Camp David.....
