As long as we have the Current Occupant in the White House there will never be the slightest intimation that disloyal muslims be separated from our military.

National security be damned. He’s on the side of the muslims.

The push to boost Muslim representation has proven to be a double-edged sword for the military, which desperately needs the Muslim soldiers for their language skills and cultural knowledge [...]

The Comedian: Since when is "Muslim" a language, or a culture? This is so stupid, I don't even know where to start...

This is merely an example of poor writing - not necessarily of fuzzy thinking.

I'll give the author the benefit of the doubt and assume that he meant that Muslim recruits frequently possess language skills which can be valuable for military intelligence purposes (read: interrogating captured enemy combatants, etc.).

Of course, professing the Muslim faith does not, per se, give anyone any special qualifications.

Regards,

I wonder what the response would have been if this happened at the pentagon?

Very good question . I wonder if it would have been possible to occur there . Are Pentagon staff subjected to more supervision and scrutiny that the murdering muslim cultist was at Ft Hood . Mistakes were made , warnings were not heeded and we do not have an overall coherent policy and practice to deal with these death cultists and protect American lives . Hypothetically if Obama could have prevented the killings only by some act that would take the lives of 100,000 muslims in Iran , we he have done so ? Would I ? I would light the entire country up right now and take my impeachment . I might only nuke qum and give people 72 hours to get 100 miles from of wherever Nutjob and the mullah music makers are , then a couple subs empty some tubes , and its Miller time .

Other people can learn Arabic.

Kick ‘em all out of the military. For a start.

Thanks for your personal experience.

All Muslims, NOI or “regular”, should be kicked out of the military. All of them.

Its the US military brass's insane obsession with political correctness that is making the US armed services into a fertile hunting ground for jihadists. Unless they know how to vet Muslim recruits, the odds are good many of them are jihadists in disguise. Nidal Malik Hasan was not the first one to turn on American soldiers and he will assuredly not be the last to do so.

If you recruit people who are natively fluent in Arabic and who know every detail of Arab culture, it simply follows that they are Muslims.

That becomes a PC bonus in that the US can say, "Why, some of our troops are in fact Muslims". However the Muslims coming into hostile lands wearing US uniforms are probably viewed as traitors to the club by the locals, so the PC value is moot.

Seriously, if you task a devout Muslim with reading the al Qaeda bulletin boards and he sees a posting that describes an imminent attack with instructions to keep it quiet for Allah, this is a conflicted individual.

I don't care if their are People of the religion of Islam in the military as long as their allegiance is to the United States and not their faith.

The push to boost Muslim representation has proven to be a double-edged sword for the military, which desperately needs the Muslim soldiers for their language skills and cultural knowledge, but also worries that a small percentage of those soldiers might harbor extremist ideologies or choose to turn their guns on their fellow soldiers.

Well, Hasan couldn't speak Arabic, according to the owner of the convenience store he frequented. He was born and raised in Viginia, so he doesn't any foreign Muslim culture. And, according to some interviews of psychiatrists who worked with him at Walter Reed, he was lazy and didn't give a damn about his work.

But he was fanatical about Islam.

Why was he still in the military?

And if people like him -- one of the supposedly "small percentage" who harbor extremist ideologies and choose to turn their guns on their fellow soldiers -- can't be screened out, or are retained out of fear of discrimination lawsuits, then why take the risk at all?

I personally know Arabic speaking, Lebanese origin, American Christians, who are very familiar with the culture of the heathen muzzies.

Scary! The dangerous ones seem to be totally focused on their devotion to their desire to eliminate non-Muslim people and they are patient in the achievement of that goal. This isn’t the first time a Muslim physician has been involved in a massacre. Does anyone else worry about this influence at large in our medical system in the US and how do we go about finding those whose goal might be to harm us rather than to heal us? And, what about other institutions, such as education? Have they possibly been infiltrated..Or, are these questions too sensitive to ask?

You things are bad when our leaders openly genuflect before evil and allows their shock troops to enter our military.

Sad indeed.

“Army officials at the Pentagon said that Muslim soldiers who felt their religion prevented them from fighting in Iraq or Afghanistan could claim conscientious objector status and seek noncombat assignments in the U.S. But they weren’t aware of any Muslim soldiers who had done so.”

Why didn’t Hasan do this? We are told that he objected to going to Iraq or Afghanistan because of his faith..yet it sounds like he never filed any papers along these lines. This is key, because it pokes holes in the lame stream media attempts to paint him as some kind of victim. Hasan didn’t object because he wanted to do just what he eventually did...wage jihad on our soldiers.

The military has worked hard to recruit more Muslims since the start of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan...

Why?

Didn't the US send Japanese decent soldiers to the European Theater in WWII?
The idea of sending Muslim soldiers to the ME is asking for even more trouble than having them in the military in the first place.

Education has long been infiltrated by the Progressives starting with John Dewey. That is why we are in this PC mess. All schools have been teaching moral relativism for decades now and “values” “multiculturalism” and “diversity” were the code words used to get their Marxist views and way of thinking into the minds of the masses. Those three concepts were used to disparage our Founding Fathers, our Christianity and Natural Law philosophy. Because of that we have a CIC like zero.

For purposes of this Constitution, Islam is not a religion.

That seems like a good start. But I wonder if the wording needs to be more precise. I do not know if anybody at FR is a legal scholar. But perhaps it is time to start a flat-out campaign around such an amendment. FR would be a good place to get the ball rolling.

Apparently, it does at the White Hut.
