Fort Worth soldier was hero in Fort Hood rampage
Fort Worth Star-Telegram ^ | 11/6/2009 | Dave Montgomery

Posted on 11/06/2009 10:10:36 PM PST by Saije

Pfc. Marquest Smith, a former Fort Worth resident who joined the Army just over a year ago, was in a small cubicle inside the Soldier Readiness Center when he heard popping sounds. A bullet tore through the cubicle wall and lodged in the heel of his boot.

Within 15 minutes, the 21-year-old soldier was rushing through the chaos in the huge processing center to pull four wounded victims to safety and help take them to the hospital. The gunman fired toward him from across the room as Smith was fleeing the building.

Other tales of heroism spread throughout this grief-stricken base Friday as it struggled with the aftermath of the worst attack ever at a U.S. military installation. Army Chief of Staff Gen. George W. Casey, who arrived at Fort Hood with new Army Secretary John McHugh, called it "a kick in the gut."***

Eight of the wounded were treated and released, and of the 30 originally hospitalized, 23 — including the alleged gunman — remained in hospitals late Friday. Thirteen flag-draped coffins were placed aboard a C-17 and flown to a military installation in Dover, Del., for final funeral preparations.

McHugh, who succeeded Pete Geren of Fort Worth as army secretary Sept. 21, told reporters that the FBI and Defense Department are conducting a joint investigation into Army psychiatrist Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, who was felled in an exchange of gunfire with a civilian policewoman.***

Hasan, who sustained at least four gunshot wounds, was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio at mid-afternoon, the Army said Friday night.***

Col. John Rossi, at mid-evening Friday, said Hasan apparently fired more than 100 rounds of ammunition from his two handguns, a 5.7 mm semiautomatic and an older model Smith & Wesson .357-caliber revolver.

God defeated Allah at Fort Hood.He also did not let Hasan die to gain a seat next to his perverted god.

Political Correctness is used to keep America blind to what actually goes on inside a Mujihads heart mind. The left has worked so hard at making sure that America does not see its war against Terror as a religious war, when in fact the enemy sees it as EXACTLY that. A religious war.

This is , as Bush said, a war against evil. And evil came to Fort Hood in the form of a jihadi who was in fact possessed by Allah. For me this incident has shades of the movie “Exorcist.”

And Good has triumphed, even though so many innocents died.
This truth of which we speak needs to me shared with America as much as possible.America needs to know of the evil which it faces, at long last. No matter what the left want to make of it.

The religious practice of the Mujihad needs to be explained to every one. There is an inner prayer designed to connect one with the self righteous energy of Allah, who literally takes over the body and mind of the jihadine.Thats what happened here.A kind of Muslim spiritual possession.Hasan was not insane, or deranged. He was just fired up on his prayers and energized. He was executing a religious ritual which he believed would open the gates of heaven for him.

The MSM will not properly inform the public about this religious practise of jihadism. It would no longer be a war on terror,The terrorists could no longer be redefined as “criminals” by Obama , who should be Mirandized with the benefits of due process that Bush had made sure to remove, as deserved.

Sadness... prayers up and thanks be to the Lord that my brother-in-law who worked in the same office as Hasan, was uninjured.

We must begin to understand the muslim mind, I do not believe a vastly large number of them are NOT our friends and that we should always be suspicious of them. Did I mention how wimpish 0bama's response was even after a 2 plus minute shout out. What a disgrace. As Commander-in-Thief one would think he would have been on his way to Ft. Hood within 24 hours. Why would I think that, silly me.

That “alleged gunman” torques me, too. PC BS.

BTW, anyone know whatever came out of the earlier reports that there was more than one shooter?

My daughter is stationed at Hood and she heard/saw ambulances going in the direction of the Clear Creek PX. At first she said there was a shooter there too but it turned out the ambulances were going out of the Clear Creek gate to Metroplex hospital.

My sister works in the ER at Scott & White hospital and said the shooter was brought there but moved the next day for his safety.
