uthorities say Fort Hood shooting Nidal Malik Hasan remains in a coma but is expected to live.

A federal law enforcement official said investigators have not been able to talk to Hasan since the deadly rampage that left 13 people dead and injured 30 others at the sprawling Army post in Texas on Thursday.

The initial investigation shows that Hasan allegedly used only one gun during the attack -- a 5.7-caliber semiautomatic pistol.

It saddens me immensley that it was not picked up on sooner. It is hard most of the time to distinguis between any soldier with issues but most are not hard to pick our,let alone what seems like an in your face problem.PC rules are what allowed this to fester into a boil that popped.
Sadly, many good troops will suffer from stereotyping
A breakdown of all involved seems to be the case.
He should have been relieved of all duties when the first complaints started arising.I do not doubt many raised the alarm button, but for some reason or another were ignored,or worried they may be subject to some “Discrimination’ hearing or what not.

When the CID or whoever was monitoring his postings for the last 6 months saw this, they should have sounded the Alarm bells immediately.
He certainly should never be allowed around soldiers in the battle zone.
And now we painfully know why.
This pc garbage is going to get even MORE AMERICANS killed. Who care what CAIR says.
TERRORIST are just that TERRORIST.

“20rnds per mag means one or two reloads if he was lucky.”

He was carrying two pistols.

I had a bad experience with morphine too. 5 years ago I was bucked off a horse (was mine, not anymore though). He bucked like a pro, and I stayed on more than the 8 seconds I’d have needed in a rodeo. I flew pretty well, but landed poorly, breaking 3 ribs, punctured a lung, dislocated a shoulder.

Anyway, I was in the ICU for 3 days. They gave me a morphine drip. The first morning I was looking forward to eating breakfast. After I ate the rather good breakfast, my stomache felt like a volcano about to erupt.

I had 3 broken ribs. Hurling was not an option. I sat so still and concentrated on not hurling.

I didn’t.

However I asked if morphine could cause that reaction and it could.

That’s my morphine story. Never taking that again. I’d rather be in pain. I don’t even think it touched the pain I had anyway.

Morphine, just say “No!”.

FOLKS

Unless he used the AP rounds, which are hard to get, the 5.7 is little more than a 22 magnum.

How long before the nutjobs tell us he couldn’t have acted alone? Dangerous contitutionalists and homeschoolers must have framed him for this.

Has anyone noticed that a lot of these jihadists are medical doctors or at least highly educated?

Yeah “crushed spinal nerve” here.
I was sooooo hungry and oops.
Nothing touches some pain.
Hope you feel better...but hey it was a great ride. 8 SECONDS REALLY. Great.

That round was designed to penetrate bullet resistant vests originially, but when then civilian version of the P-90 was offered for sale in the US they developed a non-AP round.

It’s for all intents and purposes a 22 magnum in terms of power. Its good that he didnt have a more powerful gun, more people might have died.

As far as Im aware, Glaser doesnt offer a 5.7 cal loading.

I wouldn’t put it past this jerk to mess with some GI’s head to get himself some AP.

That may be part of the basis to them not thinking he was completely alone in this thing.

The one bullet passed through both legs of the lady cop.

I’m told the pistol holds 20 rounds in a “standard” magazine. He probably changed mags, but I’m just guessing. But for sure, each bullet could go through 2 or 3 victims.

He probably had a bunch of mags, and was planning on keeping going while the mags lasted.

That might also be why he had two guns. I can see somebody trying to charge him while he was changing mags, but if he had a second gun in his left hand, he might be able to hold it ready to fire with thumb, index, and middle finger, while pulling the next mag out of his belt with the other two fingers of left hand.

They will never get IT.Touchy/Feely is what it is all about.
Remember that he had bosses!Where were their heads.
It scares me to think that his superiers were in the know and WHAT are their qualifications!?
I can understand Obama being a dumb$$,but has his mandates spread so low so fast?
Are career Officers already worried about their promotions that they have adopted a go along attitude?
I witnessed the Carter years and as disgusting as that was,he pales in comparison.I believe as I was taught, the boss is ultimately responsible for the Health and Welfare of his troops.
I do not believe the higher ups in command were aware or something would have been done. They act on the info provided by the lower echelons. In my opinion, someone or someones, covered as Officers do.Like the Police Blue Line thing.I honestly believe, someone knew something.Fox in the hen house somewhere.Just my opinion

I have no doubt that even a non-AP 5.7 would go through someone’s legs if they were not armored..its a high velocity round..sort of like a 22 Hornet.

And the AP ammo is available. I saw it advertised in a catalog a couple of years ago.

Terrorism is not a pursuit for the impoverished, who have no time for anything other than scrounging for their next meal and surviving for another day.

Nor is it one for the uneducated, who know nothing of the arts of civilization and cannot master them well enough to pass undetected through it.

Terrorism is for those who have the security to obtain the education that allows them to engage in their ideological pursuits.

He went for penetration, not killing power. Each bullet probably transited several victims. That’s why there is such a high ratio of wounded to killed.

I don't think the high-penetration rounds are civilian-legal (and I think he would have bought his ammo privately), due to their being able to penetrate kevlar. The civilian-legal ammo is all expanding hollow-point, as far as I know.

The P90 has a 50 round mag in a horizontal position on the top of the weapon.

My understanding is that the cop who stopped him had a double through-and-through wond through both thighs. I wonder if this exotic caliber tended to overpenetrate, and not cause as much damage. If the killer had been shooting a 4 or 45 with ordinary hollow points, many of the 30 wounded might have been fatalities.

I don’t have info on it, but I’m dubious on this superpenetration theory of a significant number of casualties being hit only by bullets that had passed thorugh someone else first.

Unless it’s AP, and you’re wearing kevlar, this little poodle-shooter round is not nearly as “nasty” as it’s is being touted here.

Here’s a good source to buy the pistol mags and extensions. Good company:
