My understanding is that the cop who stopped him had a double through-and-through wond through both thighs. I wonder if this exotic caliber tended to overpenetrate, and not cause as much damage. If the killer had been shooting a 4 or 45 with ordinary hollow points, many of the 30 wounded might have been fatalities.
I don’t have info on it, but I’m dubious on this superpenetration theory of a significant number of casualties being hit only by bullets that had passed thorugh someone else first.
Unless it’s AP, and you’re wearing kevlar, this little poodle-shooter round is not nearly as “nasty” as it’s is being touted here.
But the velocity 2200 fps causes hydostatic shock rupturing blood vessels. In addition this bullet tends you yaw which can cause a shoulder wound to exit from your ass.
