Spokesman says Obama to attend Fort Hood memorial

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama will attend a memorial service for those killed at Thursday's mass shooting at Fort Hood, Texas.

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs on Friday said a service will be scheduled at the convenience of the families who lost loved ones during one of the largest mass shooting on a military base. Gibbs says a service has not yet been scheduled and it would be planned around the families' schedules, not the president's.

This is the White House cover story for why Obama isn’t on the scene at Fort Hood ALREADY!

Obama is scheduled to go to the Hill over the week-end for healthcare. That takes precedence over the concern and comfort of our armed service personnel and their families.

As another poster pointed out on another thread - if it was President Bush, he would have been at Ft. Hood already.

Bush would have scheduled a service at the families' convenience - and just done it. Now look at the Obama regime. His spokesman is announcing, "Look how caring our leader is, scheduling a service at the families' convenience." He has to turn every little thing into a promotional opportunity for himself. Why couldn't he have just scheduled the memorial without making a big announcement about how "compassionate" he is? Guess that's too much to ask from the "It's all about ME" president.

Will the eulogy include a shout out to his peeps and a lamentation for how hard is job has become, or will it end with a hip-hip-hooray for the death of that nearly-dead living document that is a “charter of negative liberties”? Will the ceremony include a rug, footbath, lemon chicken, and facing east?

Gibbs said that Obama attending the memorial would not interfere with his scheduled trip to Asia next week (Nov 11). So the “families convenience” must fit into the POTUS schedule and be within the next 4 days.
