Abdul Walid Hamid of Hayward appeared before Judge Christine Moruza yesterday for an arraignment on charges of battery, grand theft, terrorist threats and exhibition of a deadly weapon. The arraignment was postponed until 9 a.m. today, however, as he required a translator.
Hamid, 22, who works at a kiosk in the mall, was arrested by Pleasanton police Nov. 4 after he reportedly yelled "Allah is power" and "Islam is great," while holding a pen in a fist over his head and then allegedly grabbing and breaking a crucifix off a man's neck. Witnesses also said he had been shouting anti-Christian comments, according to police.
Hamid's family members, who declined to give their names, say it was all a misunderstanding. Outside the courtroom, they said Hamid was provoked when the customer with the necklace reportedly called him a derogatory name. They said Hamid put his hand on the customer's shoulder, asking him not to use that word. When the customer pulled away, the family said Hamid's hand came into contact with the necklace and it accidentally broke.
His family also said that he's only been in the country a few months and is still learning the language and the laws.
You know, the more I look the more I believe this guy really was effective at hiding his rage to his family. His one face that he showed to his family where he is 'oh so kind and tender' mourning over the death of a pet parakeet and has forgiven that bad, bad person who tore his bumper sticker off his car. A good and sincere man who was was trying to leave the military AND EVEN OFFERED TO PAY BACK HIS TRAINING EXPENSES. Contrast that with the other face where his hatred and nurturing of his deep wounds, such as having to fulfill his agreement and deploy even though he really, really, REALLY didn't want to drove him to the point of making a statement (planned in advance) by a shooting spree that occurred at Ft. Hood. This mass murdering terrorist could not be the loving man his family depicts. /rant and thanks for "listening".

Authorities have been examining whether Fort Hood massacre suspect Nidal Malik Hasan wired money to Pakistan in recent months, an action that one senior lawmaker said would raise serious questions about Hasan’s possible connections to militant Islamic groups.
Rep. Pete Hoekstra, R-Mich., said sources “outside of the [intelligence] community” learned about Hasan’s possible connections to the Asian country, which faces a massive Islamist insurgency and is widely believed to be Osama bin Laden’s hiding place.
Hoekstra, the ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, would not identify the sources. But he said “they are trying to follow up on it because they recognize that if there are communications phone or money transfers with somebody in Pakistan it just raises a whole other level of questions.”
Much remains unknown about the 39-year-old Hasan, born in Virginia to Palestinian immigrants. He lived alone near the Army base in Killeen, Texas, and would sometimes use a neighbor’s computer even though he had his own.

I have today off, but the weather is dreary, damp and windy. So I have been sitting here at this PC reading news articles. What a horrible combination.
This country is in desperate shape and well on its way down the same path as Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil, post WWI Germany and pre Stalin Russia. I never understood how the tyrants subjugated these people so efficiently, until recently. Now, I am getting a first hand lesson as seemingly intelligent people march lock step in a hypnotic trance toward oblivion behind a political Pied Piper, who is so visibly attempting to destroy their country and their freedoms. After growing up in the best country ever known where the worlds immigrants flocked to join us, I now see the insanity of our country rejecting itself and racing to merge with those who have nothing to offer but hate, violent mind control, Jihad and brutal subjugation. It is pure insanity to watch rats butcher and enslave lions.
The current pace of change has been so rapid that I fear the country is lost before the people ever understand what has been happening. There are three pillars of our government - Executive, Legislative and Judicial. There is an oversight function that is supposed to be represented by the press, and there are two major political parties. All are dominated by people, who in prior generations would have been considered our enemy, and who are currently funded by international financial syndicates bent on destroying the USA.

DH: Yeah, all Ive got is what Ive read in the newspapers, so Im always careful. Youve got to see precisely what facts were in front of the FBI, in front of our military intel guys. I know that he went to this church, this mosque, that was then in Northern Virginia, as was reported in the paper. It was led by this extremist cleric, who as I understand, has issued a statement saying he did the right thing in killing those Americans. I understand this is also the same mosque where some of the 911 highjackers went to.I dont know what was exactly in front of the FBI at the time. But if there is fault and blame in this thing, we have to follow this thing through to the end! And ensure that when you see those signs, that you IMMEDIATELY take action. This isnt a game were playing. And lets hold people ACCOUNTABLE for what they did.
I dont know all the facts, but what I thought about when I saw this, it brought to mind a couple things. One is, remember just before we went into Iraq, as I recall there was a Sergeant who killed two officers. He threw a grenade into the tent. A muslim Sergeant. And I think that is something we have to look at. This guys not a raving maniac. He is a guy that is told by his preachers, so to speak, attaboy, you did the right thing; you did what was morally right. So he felt that was his moral compass, to kill Americans, that is. So this is a very dangerous element, if you have a person in a military organization who feels its his moral duty to kill his fellow soldiers; that is something where you HAVE to take tough action.
Thats not an attitude of resentment; its not an attitude of slight instability. In fact, its exactly the same position when I saw what this guy did he had the same mental state, the same purpose, as the muslim guys that drove the planes into our buildings.
In a closet, near the washer and dryer and wads of Hasan's clothing, including fatigues, was a box of pill bottles. The medications included a 2001 prescription for Combivir, a drug often prescribed for doctors who may have come in contact with HIV, as well as the antibiotic Clarithromycin, a cough reliever and an antihistamine. Yet here we are today, grieving the loss of our service men and women who were murdered, where they should have been safe. By a man who should have healed them.
And still the politically correct pipers continue to lull us to sleep as political Islam (Islamists) settle into our beds.
Rep. Pete Hoekstra (Mich.) said administration officials delayed briefing members of Congress about the alleged gunman, raising "red flags" about what the White House was hiding.
"When they withhold information, you always start asking questions," Hoekstra told Fox News. "That's what raises red flags. What do they know that they don't want us to know?" "
"It's one more piece of evidence that might have come out if investigators had taken a hard look at Hasan," said Garrett. "It doesn't say he's about to go out and shoot a bunch of people, but there's something not quite right for an Army major to self-identify that way."
I took the oath of office a few times in my military career and for the life of me I don't ever remember the word "diversity" being in it. Nonetheless, let's take the General at his word, shall we? Is the Army or the nation for that matter, strong from "diversity" by celebrating someone who makes it very clear for years that he does not like the fact that Muslim Americans in uniform are fighting other Muslims who want Americans to die? Color me a bitter Bible and gun clinger, but I thought our strength was in our freedom and the defense of our freedom by blood spilled on battlefields. I also thought that freedom allows diversity to flourish, not the other way around.
On the other side are those fed up with the innumerable daily horrific acts throughout the world that are clearly committed under the banner of Islam. In all fairness, there needs to be a distinction. Numerous criminal acts are also committed on a daily basis by non-Muslims. The critical difference is that non-Muslim criminals do not hoist a religious banner to justify their misdeeds, while the Muslims proudly claim that they commit their heinous acts in obedience to the dictates of their religious faith.
Would someone please explain what motivated Nidal Hasan, who at taxpayers' expense was educated from college all the way through medical school and post medical-school training, to turn his deadly weapons against the nation that gave him everything he had?
