Witnesses to Thursday's massacre at Fort Hood said alleged shooter Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan appeared calm and shouted "Allahu Akbar!" before opening fire at a crowd of young soldiers, pausing only to reload before he was taken down by a female officer who is being hailed as a hero.
SNIP... The massacre ended when Hasan was shot several times by a civilian security guard. Hasan survived the shootout, but ABC News has learned that he has been left paralyzed by his injuries.
SNIP....
Cone said wounded first responder Sgt. Kimberly Munley, who exchanged gunfire with Hasan and managed to shoot him four times despite being shot herself, put a stop to the carnage with her quick thinking and willingness to go head-to-head with the gun-wielding officer.
"She was quite effective, one of our most impressive young policemen," Cone said. "She walked up and basically engaged him. I think, certainly, this could've been far worse."
Cone said Munley spent Thursday night calling her fellow co-workers from her hospital bed to make sure everyone was OK.

I’ve never carried around a weapon, much less concealed. But if I lived in an area full of muslims, I would get a CCW permit in a heartbeat, and stand ready to protect every American around me.

bump
You strap him into the chair and make the trap door bigger. I'm pretty sure they have to do that under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
You can be sure, if he recovers from the coma, that he will be provided daily visits from an Army approved imam.
..and don't forget the obligatory beer with the CIC on the White Mosque lawn..
LOL—I hadn’t seen the skit, but that is pretty much what I had in mind!
Does paralysis disqualify him for CAPITAL PUNISHMENT?
You've never seen Blazing Saddles?
“Oh yes, the Dr. Gillespie killings.”
Thanks for the reminder...SNL still has its moments.
It probably qualifies him for lifetime benefits... on taxpayers' dime.
Five minutes into the flick, he says "you're right, as usual."
Although I still have no idea what that line meant.
: There's one line in the movie that I have never been able to figure the meaning to. When they are hanging people, Harvey Korman says of one of the hangees, "Oh yes, the Dr. Gillespie killings." Does anyone in the civilized (or uncivilized) world know what he is referring to?
Civilized?? Hmmm......
Boris the hangman is about to hang a dignified-looking older gentleman in a wheelchair and Hedley Lamarr says: "Yes, the Dr. Gillespie killings."
The dignified-looking older gent is supposed to be Lionel Barrymore who played Dr. Gillespie in a series of films in the early to mid forties. Mr. Barrymore was stricken with a very serious condition of arthritis which had him confined to a wheelchair. He was only supposed to live a year or so but that year lasted long enough to become several years' worth of books and movies that went on and on and on.
He continued acting in his wheelchair playing crotchety Dr. Gillespie, mentor of Dr. Kildare as played by Lew Ayres.
The films are:
Dr.Gillespie's New Assistant
Calling Dr. Gillespie
Dr. Gillespie's Criminal Case
So "The Dr. Gillespie Killings" is Mel Brooks' twisted take on what he considers should have been the last Dr. Gillepsie film.
You are a genius, Mr. Brooks!
A long time ago. I rember nothing much about it.
Thanks
Today is a day of mourning at Fort Hood, but you can bet from tomorrow there will be a lot of buck-passing going on.
Who would want to bear the responsibility for letting this jerk roam freely among "infidels"?
I agree!
Normally I’m pro death penalty...
This time I want this POS to suffer as long as possible.
Let’s waterboard the phucker!
