He served on a task force, that doesn’t mean he was ever anywhere near the POTUS. The security checks, btw, at least pre-9/11 were a joke. After 9/11 they became insane, and equally unworkable if someone was really determined to commit a crime.

Sadly, I'm a bit fatalistic. The larger the population, the more involved the laws, the more distant the legislators become, and the less representative the government. It almost seems like a statistical law. Who remains to take the oath of selflessness (if there ever was such) seriously, and who to check on the candidates?
