have we got the straight of this, yet?
I'm just not believing a single man shot 40 people with two handguns and didn't get taken down.
Hell, I shoot Practical Pistol and even in competition I can't imagine how long it would take to get off 40 rounds on target in one string, with reloads.
He was taken down by a civilian police officer..
I suspect there wasnt an MP in the area when the shooting began, and by the time the first units arrived on scene it was over.

I don’t get this either. It just doesn’t make sense unless the chaos was unimaginable and was difficult to identify where the shots were coming from. Stranger things have happened, but this is wierd.
John Carter was saying that one of the officers he talked to said that he heard both small and automatic arms fire.
All of the shooting could have been done easily with one Glock 17 and a spare magazine for 35 rounds total.
Firing Army 9mm ball ammo, 35 rounds fired as fast as possible into a dense mass of troops. No aiming. The great penetration of the 9mm full metal jacket ammo means one bullet would be likely to go through at least 2 victims. Maybe a dense bone mass stops a round, but otherwise they’ll keep going, and wounding. Throw in some errant limps and you could easily get 12 dead and 20 wounded from 35 shots.
2 handguns, 30 round magazines, crowded room. No victims armed. It is my understanding that military regularly do not carry sidearms on base unless part of their duty. Sad to say, but if he were in a shopping mall in Texas, he probably would have been shot down much faster.
The only people on the base carrying weapons were the MP’s and we don’t know where they were at the time. This is not the same as being overseas in Iraq or Afghanistan where the soldiers carry their weapons wherever they go and would have been able to take this nut down immediately..
