U.S. SOLIDIER
(Excerpt) Read more at cnn.com ...
Now the healthcare vote has been moved to Sat or Sun...so this story will be reported in the media until the vote is passed or not I wonder.
Here's the deal....
The big story here is the suspect is not dead
And the FEDS were investigating this guy over 6 months ago....
Regarding some types of bomb threats....
wow
I thought the tours of duty in WWII were a lot longer than 12 or 18 months. With training and deployments, I thought some men were away from their families for almost 4 years, and they didn't have the luxury of phone cards and the internet to keep in touch with their families.
No, I’m not remembering it wrong. If you google the net, you will find many references to the 1945-1960 dates.
WWII soldiers did one tour...from the day they signed up until the war was over. My father-in-law went in 1942 and came home in September of 1945. Everyone was an American not a “hyphenated” American.
A lot of people and marketers, real estate businesses, sociologists and so on make up their own categories but the government tells us what it is and that is what the national data (like the GAO)is based on.
‘They’ may have told you something or as you implied are still telling you that but it is wrong.
Some of you seem to be confusing being somewhere besides America with being in combat. Our troops today and even in Vietnam often saw more continuous combat than our guys in WWII.
By the way my father was in from 1939 to 1945 and barely saw America during that time.
The Walter Reed Army Research medical center would be...um...ahem....familiar with mental tampering and conditioning of various kinds...
This guy had issues against the war and was walking around with a gun on a U.S. base? C'mon. They need to review the security policies if there are disgruntled alienated Muslim shrinks walking around with loaded weapons on U.S. bases.
The information is flowing now...
While in Fort Hood he was routinely bad mouthing U.S. policy in Iraq and Afghanistan, and openly calling for the Muslims for strike back.
No, this goes back years and years. I’m 58 and those were the dates I’d always read, heard and discussed by economists and various government officials over the years since the term “baby boomers” was created. I’m not imagining it and I’m not remembering it wrong. Your dates are newer and probably reflect a government effort to make the social security burden that boomers will bring appear to be greater than what it originally was, based on the 1945-1960 dates, so they can more easily justify raising taxes. The reality probably is that those costs are higher due to all the lowlife parasites and immigrants on SSI and SSA that they hadn’t considered some years back.
Anyway, there are much more important things going on at the moment.
Nice talking to you.
Including chat discussion of suicide attacks?
They're taking right in *front* of other officers, multiple times while at Fort Hood.
My numbers are not newer, the generations are defined by birth date going back for many generations, these are the same (official) numbers that I have always heard and they have to be or the boomers would have been the first generation defined as a 15 year period, for one thing those born in 1945 have always been the “silent” generation of 1925 to 1945 (although not always labeled by that term0.
The facts are correct but not according to the article cited. I retract my remarks. Don’t like posters who don’t read the article and insert facts not evident in the story.
Boomers weren’t defined as an entire generation. A generation is considered 25 years, not 19.
Your numbers are newer, and I’m done arguing this with you. When your dates came into being and redefined the BB age range I do not know nor do I care. You go with your dates, I’ll go with mine, and all will be well.
sure they were ... they changed the article. not my fault buddy.
The government does not define generations by 25 year periods and the category that we call boomers has always been 1946 to 1964, the silent generation is 1925 to 1945, the GI generation is 1901 to 1924 etc.
