SNIPPET: “The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces was expected to rule on a long-disputed order requiring Maj. Nidal Hasan to shave his beard, which he grew in violation of Army regulations.
Instead, it sidestepped the issue after finding that the judge, Col. Gregory Gross, had displayed an appearance of bias in the case. The Army’s judge advocate general will appoint a new judge.”
(Note: 1 person who was killed was pregnant; so factually 14 people deceased and there were others injured.)

[Fort Hood, TX] On November 5, 2009, Major Nidal Malik Hasan opened fire on fellow soldiers at the Fort Hood military base in Texas killing 13 people and wounding 30 others. Hasan, a Muslim psychiatrist in a hospital at the military base, shouted “Allahu Akbar” (God is great) before opening fire. The attack took place at the Soldier Readiness Center, where soldiers are prepared for overseas deployment.
