SNIPPET: “The Pentagon has launched a 45-day probe into the Fort Hood massacre, promising to find answers to why it happened and how it can be prevented from happening again. But the investigation may prove an exercise in futility, judging from PC remarks by military brass.”
SNIPPET: “Military brass appear to be doubling down on the political correctness that blinded them to warning signs telegraphed by the Quran-waving Muslim officer accused of the worst mass killing on a domestic military base in U.S. history and the bloodiest terrorist attack on U.S. soil since 9/11.”

IBD Special Series:
Jihadist 5th Column: Part 1 | Part 2
SNIPPET: “Lost in all the coverage of accused Islamic terrorist Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan’s penetration of the military’s officer corps is a deeper problem within the military its radical Muslim chaplain corps.
One of the groups the Pentagon turns to for clerics to minister to its growing ranks of Muslim soldiers is the American Muslim Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs Council. The group was founded by presumed “moderate” Muslim leader Abdurahman Alamoudi, who described his endeavor as “an excellent opportunity to show my community we have people who are patriotic.”
This flag-waving patriot turned out to be one of al-Qaida’s top fundraisers in the U.S., and is now serving 23 years in federal prison.”

“Administration Slow To Cooperate with Congress in Fort Hood Slayings Investigation, Senators Say”
Friday, December 18, 2009
By Penny Starr, Senior Staff Writer
SNIPPET: “(CNSNews.com) Sens. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) and Susan Collins (R-Maine) told reporters earlier this week that information-sharing policies between the federal government and the U.S. military do not seem to have evolved since the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks by Islamic extremists that killed nearly 3,000 Americans.
The senators said the Obama administration took too long to brief the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on the Fort Hood shootings. The Senate panel has launched its own investigation into the Nov. 5 slaying of 13 people at the Army base in Killeen, Texas.
Lieberman and Collins, the committees chairman and ranking member, respectively, said although a recent closed-door meeting with Defense Department officials on the Fort Hood shootings was helpful, the Obama administration is not being transparent about its investigation into Army Maj. Nidal Hasan, a Muslim with ties to Islamic extremists, who is charged with the killings. The senators said the administration is not fully cooperating with the congressional probe of the case. “
