Harriet Harman was yesterday slapped down by national statisticians over her claims that women are paid a fifth less than men. The Women and Equality Minister was told she must no longer use a single figure to describe the complex differences in the earnings of men and women. Instead she will have to give three measures - among them one which shows that far from earning less than men, women in part-time jobs are actually paid more on average than their male counterparts.

When comparing men and women with equal UNINTERRUPTED time in the work force, doing the same job, women are paid slightly more.
I’ve been hearing the talking point since 1964 that women earn 75cents on the dollar of what a man makes. In 45 years of feminist politics, they apparently haven’t moved that figure one bit.
Of course, socialists lie. Always.

When analyzed objectively, it emerges that each and every premise that liberals use to justify socialism is based on lies. That is why it is impossible to do business with them. Liberalism is a mental disorder - specifically, it is sociopathy. They are able to conduct their lives entirely based on self-delusion. You cannot argue with them because they will deny undeniable facts. They will resolutely refuse to accept responsibility for the damage they cause. You cannot “cure” a sociopath. The only defense is to get away from them as quickly as possible. That is why I advocate splitting the country and allowing liberals to relocate to their coastal urban enclaves.
“Earn” is the word. Women aren’t paid less, they earn less because they work less. I’ve written LOEs to local papers explaining it, and added that, if women would truly work for 20-25% less, shouldn’t we see local sawmills and strip mines hiring female-only crews, to save on payroll?
But do they post more while working?
On of the exercises deals with average pay. I show an example where one company pays men 25% more than women, and one company pays women 7% more than men. The surprise is that "one company" is the SAME company!Every woman earns more than every man in the same job, but because there are more men in the higher paying jobs, it skews the average.
The point is that you need to understand the problem before you fire off a "solution" for it. I wish government would understand this simple principle.
