Want to save the planet? Kill your pets. Or better yet, eat them. This radical new suggestion comes from New Zealand professors Brenda and Robert Vale, architects who specialize in sustainable living. Their research has found that pets create tremendous strains on the environment and that a truly green world would have no place for these carbon-emitting parasites.

How about the cannibal who refuses to eat clowns because they taste funny?

Every stolen pic I post, I do with a completely somber expression as if I had created it myself.
In fact, over 105% of all pics I post are stolen.

Speaking of picky cannibals, I know of one who won’t eat divorced women. They’re bitter.

If they are serious then they need counseling and lots of prozac
Agreed. What 'resources' does the typical pet 'consume'? Most of it is by-products which are unusable for humans. Humans can't eat grass. Grass covers most of the land surface of the Earth. Cows eat grass. Then cows give milk. Humans consume the milk and milk products. Some cattle are male. Males don't produce milk. But they produce beef. Humans eat beef. But they don't eat the entire critter. Parts of the beef critter wind up in cans of Friskies and Alpo.
Pet dogs love to chew on pig ears. What resources do they consume by doing so? Are they really preventing a human being from chewing on the same pig ear? Would the planet be better off if pig ears were tossed into land fills because we ate all the dogs?
Cows are also prodigious manufacturers of cow manure, which can be used to grow plants, which can be used to feed cattle. If you were alone on a plot of land with no human contact for 20 years, you could survive growing plants and raising cattle. That should be the dictionary definition of the word "sustainable".
The authors of this book appear to be experts at manufacturing bull crap as well. However, their brand of crap won't sustain your life as well as that which comes from the back end of a cow.

If you replace “pet” with “liberal” in this story, it makes just as much sense and is much more satisfying to read.

Hippies are not so good eatin’. They are very hard to clean and under all that fur, they tend to be pretty scrawny.

The hippest of bipartisan weirdos have been promoting edible pets (e.g., chickens) while knowing that their class of people have already forbidden HOA dwellers with large enough acreages from having farm animals (except horses, for many). Most cities forbid farm animals for health reasons (and the smells).

WOW! Where can I get me some of those pups? I bet a feller could do pretty well raising those here in the Piney Woods, and, either selling them or hiring his (personally supervised) pack out as "pest control".
Actually, with proper post-processing (soaks in several ice+salt baths) the smaller ferals hereabouts make excellent barbecue...
Of course the "carbon footprint" (LOL!!!!WHATTAJOKE!!!) of that PPG pack would put that pair of treehugger Kiwi architects off their veggies for several years! ;-)

The Grandes are still fairly rare in the US but Medios [the next size down] are abundant thanks to Portuguese immigrants who overbreed them and then abandon them in the high CA deserts on the west coast and up in Yankee land on the east coast.
Here is a Grande puppy page:
http://www.podengo-mediogrande.com/puppy.html
I have a Medio that I rescued from a no-kill shelter in CA [along with her sister who now lives happily with a friend in NE]
This is my little Gypsy:
She is 18 inches [at the shoulder] and 30 cuddly pounds of pure, cold-blooded murder.
Her size does not seem to matter to her.
In fact, in my pack of *much* larger Ibizans and one Dobe, she is the undisputed alpha.
She will literally "throw" 30 inch/90 lb Pookie and 'dominate' her.
She never hurts her, though...just reminds her who's "queen" once in a while if Pook gets "too uppity".
A good sized pack of Medios would make your hogs lives utterly miserable.
The Podengos are relentless and -smart-.
Without *any* "training", she instinctively goes into the briers and underbrush where the Ibizans can't go [short coats/thin skin/too tall] and flushes out rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks, etc, right into the waiting the jaws of the Ibizans.
Google "Podengo rescue" but it would probably be wise *not* to tell them ~why~ you want them....:)
They also make *wonderful* lovingly devoted and sweet house pets, too...but when they are hunting, they get "Charlie Manson eyes", if ya get my drift...LOL

Or, more hopefully Liberals abort themselves out of our future.
Sorry I had to say this. I am a pet lover. I have a special needs dog that is worth more than any liberal.
