Wake Up Call: CNN’s Election Coverage Finishes Fourth
http://www.mediaite.com ^

Highlighting even further the ratings erosion at CNN in prime time, the “Most Trusted Name in News” finished in fourth place among cable news outlets during election coverage last night.

Fox News was #1 by a mile, followed by MSNBC, then CNN sister network HLN and CNN in 4th place. They were fourth in both total viewers and the A25-54 demographic.

CNN’s 4th place finish last night was only made more glaring because last year’s election coverage on the network was their best night of all time. They didn’t just have more viewers than every other cable news network last year – it was the most of all time.

Here’s the ratings breakdown in prime time last night:

FNC: 4,043,000 in total viewers (1,130,000 in A25-54)

MSNBC: 974,000 in total viewers (308,000 in A25-54)

HLN: 842,000 in total viewers (341,000 in A25-54)

CNN: 826,000 in total viewers (227,000 in A25-54)

Interesting the news organizations that Obama says are actual news organizations are no producing the viewership of real News Organizations like Fox.

FNC is not just beating the competition, it’s destroying them. Or maybe “humiliating” is a more appropriate term.

while I don’t like CNN’s bias, I have to admit the have the best set of techno-toys in the studio. I mean, come on, who doesn’t want one of the computer maps that John King gets to play with and go county by county to see just where the “good” and “bad” Americans live. If a game company were smart, they could develop a computer game about elections based on that technology.

It really is stunning isn’t it? Even if you combined CNN/MSNBC/HLN together...Fox is still smoking them by 2 million...LMAO.

CNN has to get rid of Brown, King, and Cooper. A losing trio if there ever was one. My bet is they get a conservative talk show host to have a show over there at 10 pm to fight Greta. They stand no chance against Hannity and O’Reilly.

No surprise that fox is beating their competitors but I’d rather see MSNBC in 4th place with a promise to cancel them altogether.

I agree about the toys and I like John King, he seems quite unbiased, am I wrong? On the other hand they are extremely in the tank as you are well aware. Campbell Brown, Larry King etc, have fun with those toilet ratings CNN!

Was that 4th place in a three horse race? That describes CNN alright!

Fox may have blown the others away, but Shepard Smith on Fox was pretty hard to stomach

And that was mostly Freepers channel surfing to see what those idiots were doing.

Fox news is greater than 4 times the audience, but, it’s not ‘real news’. LOL, liberals are living in fantasy land, and Americans are waking up. There are good things brewing out there.

True! I flipped through the news channels to see what the others were saying and MSNBC had Rachel Maddow on. No thanks. CNN's panel was yipping about how the results meant nothing in the long run. I turned it back to Shepard.
