Does the National Journal's Hotline inhabit the same universe as the rest of us? Republicans went two-for-three in last night's big races. But in declaring Winners and Losers among non-candidates involved with the campaigns, the only Losers Hotline saw were . . . Republicans and conservatives, with nary a Dem in sight!
Chris Matthews was only too happy to seize on the Hotline hitlist during his Sideshow segment on this evening's Hardball. Here were Hotline's three Losers:
* Sarah Palin: for jumping into Hoffman's losing cause, whereas McDonell and Christie didn't invite her in and won. * Pete Sessions: the Chairman of the NRCC, who went 0-2 in special congressional elections. * Club For Growth: which backed Hoffman.

Hotline sees no Dem ‘Losers’ ping to Today show list.
Barack Obama: for jumping into Deeds and Corzine's losing causeS whereas he did not campaign on behalf of Owens and he won.
GMTA: read article after jump!
Liberals lack functioning, rational, reasoning brains. It’s one of the oversights of nature.
Hotline. Yes. I remember that publication. They used to be big on the screen. But then the screen got small.
Just watched Katie Couric’s lead in stories on the CBS Evening News. Not one metion of the elections. Un-be-lieve-able!
So Palin gets a loser for backing Hoffman, Sessions gets a loser for backing Scuzzafava yet no mention of Obama’s 3 trips to NJ in the last several weeks? Hmmmm, if the press wasn’t so damn impartial I would think there’s a bias here.
I remember when she cried on election night, 2000.
And Hoffman didn’t invite her in, either. She just posted a few paragraphs on facebook about him. Paragraohs that stuck to the conomy and spending and said nothing at all about abortion or gay marriage or anyother social issue.
I highly doubt if she’s ever spoken to him let alone met him. If you went to his webiste he didn’t even really highlight her support. There certainly weren’t huge billboards with her face next to his, like there were in NJ with Obama and Corzine. There wasn’t local and natl TV coverage of her appearing with Hoffman at packed rallies imploring the district to vote for him because his agenda is her agenda as there was wiht Obama. There weren’t tv ads and mailers sent out trumpeting him as key partner in the Palin agenda like there were in NJ and VA for Deeds and Corzine.
Maybe if Hoffman actually had invited her in and she showed up and drew what would have been a much, much larger crowd than the 200 Biden did, maybe Hoffman would have won.
BTW, she also endorsed both Christie and McDonnell on facebook in the same manner she endorsed Hoffman. She actually wrote multiple posts endorsing both Christie and McDonnell. Her PAC donated the maximum to McDonnell. She made calls to VA the weekend before the election to conservative areas for McDonnell. Both of them won easily. The media won’t tell you that, though.
You have got to expect the media to reaffirm their credentials as loyal stooges by ignoring the disaster. Otherwise they will be on the FNC list.

Will not matter to me: next time round, she’s first on my list.
I was stunned to hear our local ABC news mention that had Obama campaigned for Thompson he may have won against Bloomberg. Perhaps sensing some would question Bambi's effectiveness helping Corzine, they reminded us that his defeat was no reflection on the Admin. but on their high property taxes.
First on your list of losers, or what? :’)
It’a been a while since I’ve looked at National Journal. Do they cover federal politics solely? I want to say...maybe.
I do not recall that they were liberal. Did they similarly ignore the VA and NJ gubernatorial races in ‘05?
If Hoffman won, the media would have bemoaned aobut Taliban Conservatives declaring a “Jihad” against moderates.
Voted for her the last time around, even though she had the flake on the same ticket.
I look forward to voting for her on the next pass.
