Many thanks to Jim Robinson and Hildy who encouraged me to post here. I don't do much blogging or posting other than Facebook so you can go over there to learn more about me and my platform. I am running for the U.S. Senate in Arizona. I will be a primary challenger to John McCain. I am a Constitutional conservative. I need your support in our effort to right the wrongs of how our federal government operates and repeal bad laws, regulations and protect states. Thanks for taking the time to read all this and yes I look forward to your feedback. I'm just a common man, a citizen who decided to stand up and be counted when I started the citizen border watch movement, the first Tea party in what is now an amazing renaissance of conservatism that is the soul of our nation. Chris Simcox
A 500 mile circuit from Phoenix to Kingman, Lake Havasu and back through the long straight roads into Wickenberg strengthened my resolve as a conservative candidate. I never stray from the marker I set on my priciples that have been learned, and earned as I approach my 49th birthday this month. This is the month that has validated my campaign. I am a Christian, Constitutional, conservative family oriented man. I understand the job I am applying for as a public servant and I will never waiver from my civic duty and constitutional oath on as I have done since I took up post on our southern border after the attacks of 9-11-01.
To Thine own self be true, and true to my mission to lead a citizen reform movement in the most socially divisive of issues, we laid down a marker at our borders, stood in defense of our sovereignty and demanded respect for our citizenship and rule of law - I have never wavered and never will. The people of Arizona are responding. I would not be wasting your time or mine if I was not absolutely committed to winning this Senate seat for the people of Arizona. As a federalist senator I'll stand strong on a no-nonsense Constitutional approach to protecting our rights as free people. I will defend our states' ability to allow people to work and live free of federal regulation. And I will protect America's freedom from Internal treaties that cede our sovereignty or are ability to defend our nation.
Thank you to the Kingmen Republican Women's Club, The London Bridge Women's Republican Club and the Lake Havasu Men's Republican Club
The following article by Lee Cary sums it up perfectly - please support my campaign tomorrow with a $25-$50 contribution to send a message to the establishment that we the people are ready to get the job done the RIGHT way. Remember the 5th of November! Chris Simcox www.simcoxforsenate.com

Hi Chris and thank you for coming here and talking to us.
I met and spoke with Chris on Monday in Kingman and in Lake Havasu City. After hearing him speak I am convinced he is one of us and I proposed he come here and talk to you guys.
I know some of you have personal issues, and that’s fine. I only hope you show courtesy and respect in your questions and in you comments.
We need to beat McCain and wouldn’t it be fabulous if we do it with a real conservative? I’m hoping everyone here will keep an open mind and help Chris Simcox with a little money. He’s not asking much. He wants to do it the way OBama did it ...with lots of regular folks sending $25 to $50. It can be done.
I received yet another fundraising letter from John McCain that was infuriating and, frankly, insulting. He talks like he’s some outsider looking in..always refering to “THEM,” when in fact, he is THEM.
Let’s send him packing, FREEPERS. Let’s put real people in office. People like you and me who know about fiscal responsibility and adhering to the Consitution.
THIS IS THE YEAR. Please help Chris and together we can do it.
Why should Freepers contribute to Simcox when he hasn’t adequately explained what he did with the money donated to the Minuteman Project?
The Republicans in Phoenix have photo vans everywhere harassing people who drive. That isn't small government. It is roadside banditry. The Republicans are as big a band of thieves as were Napolitano and her commies.
Good luck against that worthless skunk McCain. I may even re-up to vote for you.
Obama did not do it with regular folks sending $50. He raised 700 million.
“gay mate”
LOL
Thanks for what you’ve done on our border.
Good luck on your campaign.
Hildy, he posted this article, posted two replies and disappeared. No one was rude to him, but if he wants support from Freepers he does need to answer some questions, especially about the disappearing money related to the Minutemen Project.
But Obama did raise a lot of money through small donations. Since so many here are so against McCain, or so they say, I think the least we can do is help him out with a small donation.
Who are you? We get it..now, please if you don’t have anything of value to contribute, I’m asking politely to cool it. You’re being unduly rude.
He’s not running for president! If he’s more than a community organizer, I see no problems!
staytrue is making legitimate points.

The explanation in post 1 was dated in 2007. The Wa Times article was in July 2006.
I’m not a lawyer or accountant but it looks like the 2007 explanation addresses a lot of things in the Times Article.
Chris, I liked what you had to say, except I don’t think Levin is a neoconservative, not even close, more like a Constitutional Conservative and very much in line with everything else you had to say here. McCain has been a thorn in our side for a long time. I would be thrilled to have him lose in a primary challenge, if he wants to be a Democrat so bad, let him join that party.
I’ve added paragraphs to your post to make it more readable.

My Mission in Running Against John McCain:
Eight years ago I challenged the status quo on illegal immigration without thought of political party or ideology. My intent was to bring to peoples attention the underlying problem of our border insecurity. I felt then that our two main political parties were part of a three-ring circus with Democrats and Republicans whistled on stage by the Ring Master main stream media personalities. Little has changed.
Today, conservative media personalities seem to be maneuvering to upstage each other. For example: neoconservative Mark Levin has criticized populist Glenn Beck.
In this mix, I consider myself an independent conservative. I dont fit into any predefined box. My mission is, and always has been, to open the eyes of a widely apathetic citizenry.
I agree with Beck when he says that a President McCain would have been no better than President Obama. It partially explains why Im challenging John McCain in the Republican primary next August.
McCain voted for TARP. He has nurtured Cap & Trade and accepted the scientifically dubious premise that global warming is manmade as well as a clear and present danger to the planet. McCain is engaged in the healthcare debate when he should be leading a Senate effort to stop it on the ground that its unconstitutional. And, McCain supports the failed organization that is the United Nations.
Meanwhile, we learn that Obama plans to cut funding for border security. The truth is that McCain never wanted to fix our porous borders in the first place. I, along with tens of thousands of citizens, held a Tea Party on the border in 2005. We led the charge to stop the McCain-Kennedy amnesty bill in 2006. We forced Congress to build over 600 miles of fencing in 2007. Yet, the border problem remains a serious issue regardless of the party in charge. And it will only improve until voters demand change
.
On the border issue, Beck is right. A President McCain would have been no better than Obama. In 2004, McCain told me, to my face, that what I was doing on the border would bring more trouble than the drug cartels. Meanwhile, McCain and Obama both sit idly by allowing the drug cartels to expand their criminal activities into U.S. cities and essentially control Americas southern border.
I respect the libertarian principles of Constitution, Freedom and Liberty. Im running as a registered Republican with the goal of helping move the GOP toward becoming a party that embraces those principles. Among some in the Republican establishment the attitude toward me is How dare you! Who the hell gave you permission to do this! Youre going to screw the whole damn thing up.
I fully expected that response. Its symptomatic of a political party that needs an awakening. And I believe that awakening will be delivered upon it by patriotic voters in 2010 in Arizona.
My response to the GOP establishment, and to Mark Levin, in defense of Beck is that Beck is doing what a good teacher does, and what I did when I was a teacher. Hes starting with the basics - government 101 and building from there.
My love of the Constitution and my deep respect for the freedom-loving conservatives of Arizona call me to run against John McCain. He, progressive liberals, and the professional GOP party loyalists should take note. People are demanding that politicians return their government to its Constitutional foundation. In the next election, they will elect Congressional representatives who will protect our free market economic system, our borders, and our national security.
So Im running as a states rights candidate. And I will, when elected, work to protect the state from federal government encroachments. I will work closely with Arizonas elected representatives to protect the rights of Arizonas citizens. I will not enter the Senate with the overriding goal of working for the GOP or the federal government. I will go to bring a message from the American people that says, Keep it simple; stay out of our private lives; do whats necessary to defend the nation. And dont impede our industry or stand in the way of our enterprising spirit flourishing once again.
Chris Simcox
You have my support even though I’m in California. But I will gladly send a donation to your campaign.
Just a few words of encouragemnet. Although illegal immigration and our bleeding, open borders are very important issues, they alone will not be enough for you to beat McCain. Make sure you go out there and clearly state you position on the three main issues on everyones mind: Taxes, the economy and goverment spending.
If you have a clear, conservative position on all those issues you can clean McCain’s clock! With as much kissing up to Obama as McCain has done and his constant smacking of conservatives, McCain is asking to be defeated. A majority of Arizona Republicans polled say McCain is out of touch with them.
Good luck to you Chris. Everyone in my family is pulling for you.
Welcome to FreeRepublic, Chris!
There are 8 people in my immediate family that are guaranteed to vote for you.
:)
Put this place on your 'favorites' and check in as frequently as possible; you'll be amazed (once you put on the inevitable internet BS meter) at what FReepers come up with.
I can’t vote for you but I can donate to you!
Welcome to Freerepublic!
We really need to defeat McCain in the primary. I’m not sure if J.D. Hayworth is running also. What we really need is a conservative caucus of some type before the primary and have ONE conservative run against McCain to not split the vote. If it’s you, I would hope J.D. and others campaign for you, if it’s J.D. I would hope you would campaign for him.
If you both run, we’ll be stuck with McCain. I was asking for a primary challenge to McCain the day after the election!
