I really think that the ads the “no” side were pushing worked in our favor. They cluelessly assaulted the good sensed of people with revolting images of little children flanked by homosexuals who had total control over these innocent one’s lives. Talk about an “ick” factor!

I wonder if the ferocity with which gay marriage proponents attack their detractors was also a factor.

Probably. Hell hath no fury like a woman faggot scorned ... and normal folk don't appreciate being on the receiving end of such fury.

The vindictiveness of a female with the strength of a male.
Very dangerous.

Yes 7,001,084 52.24%
No 6,401,482 47.76%
Valid votes 13,402,566 97.52%
Invalid or blank votes 340,611 2.48%
Total votes 13,743,177 100.00%
Voter turnout 79.42%

Is that REALLY how it was worded on the ballot? Good God, that’s abysmal language. Should have read:

Proposition 8 is an initiative constitutional amendment that, if passed, would clarify marriage as between one legal age man and one legal age woman.

There - no elimination of rights there, and you clearly state they BOTH have to be legal age (further defined elsewhere, of course).

"Receiving end". You homophobe, you hater.

I know you didn't say it, but we KNOW what you were thinking.

The thought police will visit you today.

Make-up at MSNBC studios will be working hard to hide all of the puffy eyes of their hosts. Rachel and Keith are gonna cry.

With the repeal, Maine became the 31st state to reject same-sex marriage at the ballot box. Five other states - Massachusetts, Connecticut, Iowa, New Hampshire and Vermont - have legalized same-sex marriage, but only through court rulings and legislative action.

Popular votes say no. Only liberal legislatures and courts see it otherwise.

The heart vs the mind.
